Dear members,

First time posting so do i hope I'm doing this in the correct way, if not my apologies.

I'm having problems with my sweet Sundays cinema code, basically I'm following the t&c's and booking for a 2d showing on a Sunday at my local cineworld at Crawley.

The cineworld website keeps showing a £2.20 per code used.

Have contacted sweet sundays direct and they have basically said the problem seems to lay with cineworld.

Apparently i can use this code in store and I won't be charged this fee, not really what I wanted to hear, i like to pick my seats and book in advance.

After a 50% increase in vouchers to actually get this code and now this hassle, i know it's no hardship eating extra choccie, i was just wondering if anybody else has had this problem?

I'll shut up now

Many thanks for your time.

Try phoning cineworld customer helpline, I had a similar problem with discounted codes from my employer recently, the cineworld website is a law unto it's self sometimes.

it's the same with Meerkat vouchers cineworld charge you a fee but the tickets free.
I think it's just their way of making money from these vouchers.
Not much you can do unless you use it in store like suggested as there's no fee.

If you can get to cineworld easily enough you can still book advance tickets and select your seats. That's what I do each time I have vouchers but I'm fortunate that I pass within a couple of hundred yards of the cinema most days

Crawley is a 40 minute drive but the nicest cinema, Brighton is closer but it's a dump!
I can accept a 50p or maybe 70p booking fee but £2.20, that's taking the proverbial!

cineworld charges for online booking, whether you pay with card or have a promotional code. but as the post above states, £2.20 per voucher sounds like cineworld isn't getting enough money already from the code as payback.

I know the OP says they are booking a 2d showing but I wonder if it's a standard 2d showing. I have to pay a supplement if I want to go to a super screen 2d showing

OP, have you tried picking a different time/movie to see if the price changes?

Tried different films at different locations but to no avail, all films are bog standard 2D, nothing fancy about them.
Have emailed cineworld today and I'll hold my breath.
This will be the 3rd occasion I've done this promotion over the years and never had any problems before.

And the battle continues.
Had a lovely standard email response from cineworld, stating how upset they were that I didn't like paying the booking fee, it's hardly a standard booking fee is it!
Why is it you spend time writing your email and they don't even bother reading it or get the context of what your saying, that is infuriating.
So I decided to call cineworld. Spoke to a young lady who tried telling me i was trying to book a 2d super screen film, to which i asked how can i tell the difference if I'm booking this at home, get this, you can't, the cineworld booking system doesn't show this to the customers apparently, until you checkout.
So they will raise this issue with the IT department and hopefully it will be remedied by next week.
When I finished the call i went onto their website to see if there is such a super screen in 2d, unless I'm rather slow i cannot find such a screening, maybe an op can enlighten me, never had this problem before and personally I smell a rat!!
