Hello,

My laptop came with Windows 8 but I installed Windows 7 64 bit, I was trying to restore Windows 8 but it hangs in middle so I turned off and that's what's the mistake, I am getting this error no device found, I tried to boot with both dell windows 8 back up cd and windows 7 system image restore cd but nothing works, what I can do now, thanks

Is it actually set in the bios to boot from CD?

Fresh install, how did you manage to select restore win 8? Was this in computer settings? Or did you just put the win 8 disk in and select something?

I back up Windows 8 in 2 dvd drive, now I am ok even with Windows 7 also just want to run whatever os is , but I lost the image on my d drive also m, all I can think is to get image and make a usb boot is that the only option?

If your laptop didn't come with a system disk, which they don't often then just do a fresh install of 7 disk you say you have ,
