Hi, I've got "simply broadband" with talktalk as part of my telephone package but don't have the router for it (which I received about a year ago but I can't find it). Talktalk won't send me another one as they're focusing on fast broadband and have stopped simply broadband for new customers and therefore don't have any routers for simply broadband and will only send me a router if I move to a fast broadband deal which I don't want to do. What's the cheapest option of getting a router that'll work for talktalk's simply broadband?
Thanks in advance

Any modem/router will work, check ebay/amazon

check gumtree people have these lying around and sometimes put them on free.

Suggest questionable excuse from TT but understandable business practice to attempt to contract customer again. Freecycle, Gumtree or ebay. TT-branded shift for under a fiver delivered. Random examples sold recently here.

They'll only issue a **** HG635 anyway which is utter turd, disconnects devices when they enter sleep mode and requires a reboot of the router to fix. Ongoing issue with it since November 2014 which is when they last issued a software update for it despite listing this exact issue as a known fault to be rectified in the next software update.

If you're out of contract have a look and see if you will save money by going to another ISP, they'll give you a router when you join.

talk talk require a user/email address and password to log into their servers to use their internet.
if you have lost something as big as a router then im guessing you have lost these too ??
they are unique to your account so you will need them for an aftermarket or second hand router.

Hi
Do you mean the HG633 rather than the HG635 as I replaced my HG633 with the HG635 and its a stable router?

Most definitely the 635. Running firmware 1.6t iirc....which TalkTalk say is the 'latest'
