Thanks for the reply aceshigh - I've actually changed my mind now and will buy the Samsung LE40M86BD. Lowest price found so far is £969 delivered from Dixons (there is also 4% Quidco or 5% if you pay with Egg card).

If anyone finds a better deal please let me know - sharing the info will be much appreciated.

Thanks very much Specialk - I will order this weekend (probably Saturday morning) so any codes before then will be much appreciated.

I will also keep reading the reviews for other brands/models but so far this seems to be the best full HD TV (1080p) in the market, at least for the price range. An excellent review for this TV can be found here: http://www.hdtvtest.co.uk/Samsung-LE40M86BD/

I am trying to order it online but when I add it to the basket it asks for my post code and checks the stock there. I know it sounds weird but apparently this is their way to save some money on shipping.

I will try with Currys tomorrow, thanks for the tip.

Ok, thanks for everyone who replied. I have ordered the 46" version of the TV this morning (LE46M86BD). In case that helps anyone, the best deals I found were:

For the Samsung LE40M86BD:
Dixons: £1135 with 3 years accidental cover (including 5% Egg cashback and £50 discount voucher 50JUNEAW).
EmpireDirect: £1014 with 3 years warranty-extension cover (including 2% QuidCo and £10 google checkout).

Samsung LE46M86BD
Dixons: £1659.65 with 3 years accidental cover (including 5% Egg cashback and £50 discount voucher 50JUNEAW).
EmpireDirect: £1504.2804 with 3 years warranty-extension cover (including 2% QuidCo and £10 google checkout).

I have ordered mine from Dixons for £1303.68 (including 4% Quidco and £50 discount voucher 50JUNEAW) with the standar Samsung 1-year guarantee only - with the intention to buy 3-years accidental damage cover from Dixons after 11 months (you can buy this up to 12 months after purchase).
I do have an Egg card but I couldn't figure out how the cashback will be sent to my Egg card so I used QuidCo instead to be on the safe side (4% is not that bad anyway!).
