Got some Sennheiser RS165 wireless headphones and a Samsung UE50K6020 TV.

The headphone transmitter has a 3.5mm headphone jack. TV doesn't seem to have anything for audio except some weight optical thing.

Any way to convert the optical to 3.5mm? Or is as bad as I think - I need new optical ready wireless transmitter headphones? Opened the box for the Sennheisers already and took stickers off the headphones, doubt Amazon would let me exchange up for some optical ones..

Any ideas?

TV (6000 and 6020 the same)

Try having a look at something like this on Amazon
You might be able to find a better quality one but this seems to work reasonably well for me.

Thanks Argoj, will it actually work, I saw someone say adapters only work if the device supports the conversion.. something like that.. oO

audio out via HDMI to sound bar with 3.5mm audio maybe?

Looks like the TV has Bluetooth, so a Bluetooth receiver with 3.5mm out will suffice to bridge the gap - even if the better solution would have been to just buy Bluetooth headphones from the start.

It worked for me on a lg tv I had with a set of headphones. As yours are a transmitter that you will be plugging in it will probably have less power draw then normal headphones.

Have you tried contacting Sennheiser and asking them what would be your best or most effective solution. You never know you may not be the only one with the issue and they may already have a solution.

had a bose companion 5 pc speakers that I wanted to connect to my TV but my lg tv did not have a 3.5mm jack ..so bought a optical to audio conversion kit from maplins for about £20 .. just plug optical lead from tv into this and on the box it has a 3.5mm jack plug which you can plug anything into this .. works great

Thanks guys, was about to have a shot at the conversion but took a shot with Amazon who said I could return it, so just going to do that now. Surprised they'd let me return an opened box. Will look for a optical transmitter and headphones now. Didn't see anything yet within budget, around £130ish. Want the RS175s or similar quality..

Your TV probably has a scart connector which you can grab the audio from with the right adapter.
