my contract is coming to an end with VM.
I have M+ TV phone and 50mb Fibre all for £36 going up to £40 in November.

Im simply just looking to try and cut the cost. I dont use the phone line but I would say the Fibre is important due to my usuage and online gaming.
TV wise, Im ok with freeview but would require discovery channel and few more music channels would be nice.

I have an androis tv box so tv shows and movies not a problem. I do record alot of TV so would need either a good on demand service or a box which records.

with the above in mind, can anybody recommend any alternatives. wanting to look at an all in cost of no more than £25pm

thanks in advance

Have you checked BT Infinity 1 (52MB) deal?
£10/month with line rental £18.99 = £29.99 /month
You will get back BT £100 reward card , also try to go through topcashback to earn £105.

To minimise cost even more, pay line rental in advance.

Also search for sky fiber deals post on Hukd.

Drop the virgin TV (Tivo is rubbish anyway) Keep the broadband and stick with Freeview.

If your TV doesn't support USB recording you can easily pickup a BT Humax Dtr-1000 box on ebay for around £40-£50

As far as im aware you don't need a phone line for VM, could you cut that from the package?

Also try the retentions trick. Give notice to cancel, wait a week (or sooner) and you should get a call offering a much improved deal. It worked for us earlier this year.

the new sky Q deal with carphone warehouse is pretty good to be fair

In theory that is exactly how it should be...In practice Virgin charge more for Broadband without a phone line...crazy..

put the cancelation in and wait for a call back from retentions, we ended up paying less than we were originally paying discounted on broadband only. push for TV discount as well or move to sky for one of their offers or save even more with freeview.

We only pay £20.25 for broadband only with speeds of 150Mb.

Sounds much like the conversation I had, eventually I rang back a couple of days before termination date (VM retentions never called me again) This time I cancelled the TV and just left BB with them. got a £50 bill credit and £7pm off Broadband price for the length of a new 18mth contract.
My monthly target was £50pm for TV/Phone and BB.
Called Sky and rejoined sky for just TV at half price for 12mths with no contract.

just cancelled mine with VM and now going with SKY fibre 40mbps BB incl line rental - £15 per month vs £35 with VM!

Loyalty doesn't exist, just move on! After ~20 years we left VM, got a great deal with Sky and Sky give out 60% off list price through retentions without much work.

Saving about £25/mo now...
