Train tickets

Hey,

I'm (desperately) looking for a deal on train tickets.

My journey is Manchester Piccadilly (MAN) on the 3rd July to Cambridge (CBG), returning on the 4th.

There is an outward journey at 5.20am, arriving at 9.21am that I'm interested in, with an open return. I can find the ticket for £77.50 return, but was wondering if anyone could find it cheaper, as I can't afford that.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Only way of getting really cheap rail tickets is advance purchase. Best prices are usually (but not always) when they're first released, about 12 weeks or so in advance of journey date. Never seen late cut price tickets, unfortunately. :-(

10% discount from n1ttygr1tty's post above is probably the best you'll get for travel this week.

returning when?

you going to join them?

I use trainline.com and check out MSE for bits on train journeys! They do suggest that splitting tickets works, for example... Manchester > Ely > Cambridge could be a cheaper ticket than Manchester > Cambridge, yet it might be the same journey! :)

The cheapest is £52.50 and no I am not a train nerd.
£10 for Manchester - Doncaster
£19 for Doncaster - Peterborough
£23.50 for Peterborough-Cambridge

so what did you go with?

The 10% off code posted first. I ordered it, refreshed this page, and you had posted. AFter the cancellation fee, it wasn't worth the difference to cancel and go with your option.
