Going into Newcastle at easter for a night out and stopping over, probably in the Travel Inn or Travel Lodge, can't remember which lol.

Anyone know of any discounts?

https://www.travelodge.co.uk/supersaver_search/ - Travelodge have some good £15 rooms over Easter - may help.

Cheers mate, but unfortunately Travel Lodge do not have any rooms available at all on 14 April. Ugh.

You tried the new holiday inn? (Located in the centre on St James Boulevard --- so you can look at a decent stadium all night)

The lodge in the centre is normally always busy.

Jurys inn might be worth a try as well.

I do know a dive of a place which is in the centre but will leave that as a last resort if you are still REALLY struggling.

And NO you cannot stop at mine..... you might nick all wor silverware since you have none of your own!

What about places that are not far (Short 10-15 metro journey), or even jesmond (15 min walk)?

Lol, ur a funnion.

Not clued up on the Toon mate, I tend to try to stay clear. It's a birthday do, mainly couples but 4 of us are stopping over. If you could point us to anything that will cater for 2 double rooms nice and cheap, I think we may even stop in one room if push comes to shove, I have an adventurous side to me but not sure my partner has. :giggle: (Joke by the way, before the jokes start). Would prefer pre booking online, that would be awesome.

It actually works out the same price from where I live if we take the car and stop over compared to getting a taxi there and back the same night, plus a better night if we stop over.

The only one i can find is the holiday inn on st james blvd but its a staggering £95 per room per night.

Tried the premier inns and they are all full (Except Holystone --- which is miles away from the centre)...... even the one at the metrocentre.

Swallow Imperial Hotel is really nice - cept their website isnt working... checked the telephone number in the directory 0191 281 5511.

Swallow in gateshead (not far) from £55.... cannot check their website though.....
http://www.activehotels.com/servlet/xmlbrochure/index.do?hotelid=223107&trkref=GIM&language=en

£59.90 at menzies at silverlink (£5 in a taxi from the centre)....

I take it this is easter weekend? Am trying allsorts and not getting any availability. Menzies will possibly be the best bet if the swallow ones dont come back. Although dont write off the hotels in Jesmond (normally private run but are really nice!) and its a good place to start drinking before heading into town.

Will ask around and see what i can come up with overnight

Cheers mate, I will pass these on to the birthday girl tomorrow as she is booking them, obviously we would need to book in advance so we know whether to drive or arrange to join the clan in the mini-bus and come back the same night.

Pointless driving up and finding we cant get any digs, that would be just bad, very bad, lol.
