Hi all, im looking to buy my nephew some trainers and a school bag but i have no idea what is in fashion for a 12 year old. I want to get him something really trendy, i was looking at converse trainers-are these in fashion at the moment? also what kind of bag is in fashion for lads that age-ie messenger bag or backpack? Where would i be able to buy these from?

I would be grateful for any help given,xx

No offence but the fact that you call things trendy points me in the direction that what you may buy for him will not be to his taste. At that age he needs to be picking them himself not having them bought for him.
Maybe vouchers for a sports shop instead or offer to take him out to the sports shop and pay for what he picks himself.

I kind of agree with greg_68 :) At that age, he might be getting into his own style or following different scenes.. he'll also be influence by what his friends are wearing so you're probably better off treating him to vouchers so he can go shopping with his friends.
ANIMAL backpacks or messenger bags seem to be the thing. Very well made & they take A4 size folders easily as well. There are so many designs though that you are bound to get the wrong one!!
As a mum of a 13yr old you can't go wrong in JD sports.if you don't have near you they are online.
I'm 15, and for school i have a pair of white Lyle and Scott plimsoles and a nike school bag?

I would prefer to get a voucher for somewhere like JD and choose for myself ;)
