You wont get anything decent for that mate I'm afraid......

isnt there a 20 inch monitor in deals for about 180?

if not you can easily get a 19 in widescreen for about 130ish....
#3
For a 360 though, you will need a VERY low response rate to be able to play it properly, otherwise you will get motion blur
#4
so how much anm i looking for for a decent 20inch
#5
I have just bought my son an Acer 19" monitor from Argos £140, which will play the games in HD, and it is awesome the picture is better than my 32" samsung lcd, you will not be dissapointed.

it really depends. You do get what you pay for, but you can pick up a reasonable 20'' widescreen for around £200. If you want one with superior panel quality, you're looking towards the £300-£350 mark

I personally use a 19'' HannsG i bought for £130, and have no complaints at all using it with my 360

mate have u got the monitors model number thats more of a price i am looking for!
#9
yep its HERE A mate of mine actually purchased it from there today, and with delivery it came to £128. Not bad at all. And it has both a DVI and VGA port too, unlike other widescreens for a similar price

I must say though it looks LOTS nicer in real life than it does in that stock photo on the microdirect site. trust me

aint this a pc monitor ????

I didnt know you could play xbox 360 on an pc monitor :? what connects the 360 to a pc monitor ???

dont some pc monitors have a better resoultion than hd TVs ? so if hooked up to your 360 shouldnt that mean you get full xbox 360 HD detail through a pc monitor that supports that resoultion

Yup. You use the VGA cable to hook your Xbox up to a monitor.

Saw this in PC world today and it looked very sexy: http://www.pcworld.co.uk/martprd/store/pcw_page.jsp?BV_SessionID=@@@@0250691128.1169750234@@@@&BV_EngineID=ccdjaddjmdehijgcflgceggdhhmdgom.0&page=Product&fm=null&sm=null&tm=null&sku=656560&category_oid=-27763
The picture quality was excellent and they had it on special offer at £150

Ive heard good things about the Samsung SyncMaster 940BW (infact, hardly heard a bad thing about Sammy Monitors) and it fits in your price range at around £150.

How big do you want?
#14
i dont know 19 inch 20 inch whatever within a budget
#15
LCD or normal one? I have normal and it is great, 21" £90 from argos!
#16
preferably one which sounds gud with a xbox 360!
#18
ps if the tv supports fastext or something that would be an added bonus or teletext or freeview!
#19
It has teletext (fast text)
#20
the thing is its a standard tv, i dont want a standard as i already have a 32inch panasonic widescreen ,the reason i want something not too expensive is cus i am moving houses and i want to put in a room just for games and stuff u know wat i mean so i want something slightly flashy with possibility of playing hd movies or the games in good quality!
#22
It is ok, i will look for some now
#24
that is good i seen that too but im confused what is a vga and what is dvi?

if i got a tft monitor can i only use that if i connect to my pc or can i connect directly to the xbox and ive heard people saying u need graphic cards etc

i just need a monitor/tv which can play xbox games and hd movieS!!!

im so confused!
#25
Well my standered is 60hz, it plays 360 games fine. But im not sure about HD DVD's
#26
ah ryt cool well i need to find out maybe i can use my panasonic 32 inch itll probably still be ok but its nt a new 1
#27
So you will do HD DVD's on your 32" and 360 on the one you buy :?:
#28
i want to play games and dvds on a new tv but if i dont get a decent price then il have to use it on the old 32inch
#29
I dont think you will for £140 ish, anyway what do you want then, standerd or Plasma?
#30
lol i probably stretch myself about 180
#31
probably go up to about 185
#32
I think you should get a TV now (standered or flasy lol) and play the DVD's on your 32".
#33
mite do that im going to have a look and see if i can find a decent lcd tv which is hd ready
#34

If thats all you want it for then a monitor would be the best buy, all you'll get is a panel with a VGA port and a DVI port. The panel itself will be far better than a similarly priced TV and it will take a High Def signal (doubt there are any TVs in your price range that will).
A TV would only be the better buy if you were going to use its features, i.e. watch TV on it, connect up DVD players, Sky/Freeview/NTL boxes etc

Check your PMs, sent you a better explanation (or maybe worse, not too sure :w00t: )
