You will probably get answers that it's great but there are lots out there who say they aren't any more. Check the review sites they are full of poor reviews. Saying that I have recently bought from them and have on the past. For me it's worth it. I would say though check for cheaper prices and make sure you price match up to 28 days after purchase.

I would pay the extra for a John Lewis warranty. I did and my Samsung 40 inch developed a screen fault at just over the 2 year stage. John Lewis replaced the set with no bother at all. After all the extra 4 year warranty would only cost you 30 Bob a month over the 48 months No much for peace of mind

I had a problem with my tv although they said it must be the sky box, they said you need to be sure 100% otherwise I would get charged. the colour used to drop from lighter to getting darker. tried different HDMI cables but didn't have a spare sky box. it does it on very rare occasions anyway so left it.

I would pay extra for the warranty because I once bought a tv with £150 warranty on top on the tv, after 18 months the screen went. got a similar spec but a different brand comparison tv, from Panasonic to lg , which I didn't want to buy in the first place because lots of people on hukd gave negative reviews on lg.
I'd say buy any tv but with warranty

That was probably not a fault, it was probably the light sensor doing it's job.!. Auto dimming.!.

I can't answer if it is worth it, as you may never need it, however my Samsung TV, purchased from John Lewis, went faulty after 52 months.

It was collected from me, repaired, and returned in 4 days.

To me, it was worth it.

I made a claim on a Sony after 4 years with JL and they paid to have it fixed. So worth it for me.
