Okay so just planning my plasma set up, where is the best place to buy them covers that hide all the wires (I cant make holes in walls) also is there such a thing that you can put your sky box/dvd player on that would be hidden, like a floating shelf but not, if that makes any sense. thanks.

No I thought you couldnt because off the heat of the fire? or did I make that up

your right the heat wouldn't be good for it at all .... its just i mounted mine above the fire place but i have an electric fire that is very seldom used , and then built a custom floating shelf between the chimney breast and the opposite wall ( quite hard to explain m8 ) If you have a socket close to where you want the tv then that box conduit is the best idea without tracking the walls.

My fire is on all the time cause we removed the big rad in the lounge to accomodate a big sofa and the wall does get pretty warm where the fire is which is a bummer as all my sockets are on the wall near the fire!

sounds like you have a job on your hands then , it will be worth it in the end as they are far better on the wall .good luck .
