Someone at work just got one and said they were amazed at how long it was lasting!
#2
what apps are you using
#3
less than 1 day (heavy use, power saving off), 1 1/2 days with power saving on. Phone doesn't seem any noticably slower though with power saving on, which is nice
#4
depending on your settings could last 12 I've had as much at 31hrs make sure to turn power saving mode on and reduce screen brightness. keep an eye out for android media sever will suck the life out of your phone in mins
#5
You typically get around 1 days usage with about 4-5 hours screen on time. I could get up to 2 days with light usage.
S7s are not Note 7s so they don't blow up, although there is always a first time ;)

Thanks all, I'm using everything exactly the same as my old Samsung note 3, and after an hour in my pocket not in use it's down to 92% and than 2 hours later with light use its at 70% basically my note 3 gave me a full day with min 30% spare by end of the day and this is down to 30% by supper.

It shouldn't be dropping that quickly I've been using mine most of the day & it's at 83% now.

Try factory resetting it & add your apps back in batches to see if you can narrow it down.

Try the Greenfly app, it will shut down any apps you don't or rarely use.

I don't believe it is to do with apps as I am using exactly the same apps as on my old phone.

but they could be unoptimised on the different hardware

This is a not a good idea for anything Android 6.0 and above. I don't think that it is app optimisation either. Get an app like Better Battery Stats and run your mobile for a day or so to see what is causing the issue. There may be something running that you don't know about.

the problem with better battery stats app is that you need to be rooted
#13
It's it filtered?
#14
I have the same problem. I have found the battery runs down a lot quicker then my S5. When fully charged, within 15 minutes the battery has gone down to 95% and I've only read one text. It also gets warm. If I listen to music I have to charge it by mid afternoon.

There are other tools like GSAM which don't need to be rooted to give you useful info.

Anyway if you are getting a full day's usage out of it then that is about right. Another key stat to look at (if you are not making lots of calls) isn't how long it's on, but the Screen On Time. This is essentially the amount of time you are actually using the device as opposed to just it working in the background. If you are getting less than 4 hours then you are either doing very heavy work or something is wrong. 4-5 hours is normal for this phone.
