Your cheapest option I would think would be a remote unlock whereby the unlocker connects through their pc to your pc and unlocks your phone which you have connected to the usb of your pc,probably would cost you about £6ish

Looks like there are a number of online unlocking sites for this phone ...

This one appears to cost £2.99

http://www.unlocksuperstore.co.uk/

Although there might be free sites out there as well (have a look at http://www.mygreatphone.com/forum/modifications-hacking/6619-step-step-unlocking-ku990-viewty-images-included.html)

I am sure that if you spend a bit of time Googling that you will probably be able to get it unlocked free ;-)

Cheers

'APPEARS' yes :w00t: Its a scam site

As for the mygreatphone link,I tried that ages ago,it didn't work for me,I know some people got it to work but it was only certain models which I think may have been older models,if you want to fiddle about for hours then find its been a waste of time give it a go

As I said, It "Appears" that there are a number of sites offering unlocking at a cost. I have previously unlocked LG phones with a free unlock site and had no issues.

As with everything, you need to do your research and be careful not to use dodgy sites. I am sure that not all sites are scam sites that offer online unlocking for phones?

You can be sure that any site offering unlock codes for the like of viewtys for 99p-£2.99 are scams

I needed a viewty done a while ago and researched it for ages, the cheapest option for the viewty was the remote unlock

Bottom line is that there are tools available to unlock phones for free. They are not ALL scams or dodgy. I have personally unlocked phones this way with no issues in the past. If someone is willing to put in some effort to Google for a suitable site / piece of software they may well be able to unlock their Viewty F.O.C.

For some reason you seem very negative about my comments when I am just trying to assist someone (as you were in the previous thread). I personally don't much care for that kind of attitude as I have nothing to gain from any of my posts and am just trying to assist someone.

Of course there are tools available to unlock phones for free,I did not say that there weren't. It depends however on the model of the phone as to your options,

I said that the site you highlighted to the OP was a scam site, which it is. You complain that I made a negative comment? Maybe you'd have preferred I said nothing and the OP to have gone on your example site and been ripped off

You won't find anything to unlock it free on google shamus except for the 'mygreatphone' thread and granted that did work for a minority of people ages ago it's highly unlikely to work for you,by all means try it,if it works then well and good

If you had taken the trouble to read the second link that I posted you would see that it was a forum describing the process to unlock the viewty with pictures and links to files

"Step by Step : Unlocking KU990 Viewty (Images included) Thread".

Having not used the paid for service to unlock a phone I can't comment if it is a scam site, but will take your word for it. The last thing anyone wants is for someone to get ripped off and as you well know everyone needs to do due diligence on anything they spend money on, or when they install software from the Internet.

Bottom line is I was trying to be helpful here and did provide a link to a source of free information that may help someone unlock a Viewty. If they choose not to use the information that is their choice.

What I do find disturbing is the negativity from some users which I am sure they consider as 'sport'. I have seen it on many posts and don't think that it is in the intended spirit of the forum.

Jason, please read my post no5 on this thread,I did not need to take any trouble to read your 2nd link to 'mygreatphone' as I already was aware of that forum,I read it all ages ago when I was trying to find a way to unlock my viewty,I spend ages searching google for a solution which is the reason I know which options are available,

on post 5 I wrote...

"As for the mygreatphone link,I tried that ages ago,it didn't work for me,I know some people got it to work but it was only certain models which I think may have been older models,if you want to fiddle about for hours then find its been a waste of time give it a go"

I ended up resigning myself to having to pay to unlock my viewty,I used the cheapest option,if a free unlock had been possible I obviously would have used that,

I advised OP of this rather than having them hanging on for days in hope a magic solution was going to pop up when it isn't
