I think you'll find that most 02 contract phones are already unlocked ? I tried mine with about 3 or 4 different sims and they all worked fine.

For what reason is it locked?
#3
It only displays the standy screen when a sim is put in to it.
#4
Have you tried CS on their site?

Go into your local independant phone shop or find a mobile phone market stall, they'll do it for between £5-£10, usually as you wait. Some phones (e.g. Samsungs) take a bit longer to unlock and can be left overnight. Just remember to get a receipt!

Its the new Nokia E90. I was pretty certain that they worked on every network so am a bit shocked, maybe the phone is faulty?

I've never known O2 to distribute locked phones.

No i've always had unlocked phones with O2..... on contract that is not sure about PAYG? Anyone know? I wouldn't think you could claim a replacement handset on O2 just because it won't accept other network sim cards. Try unlocking it for a tenner, then you'll know.

Hi,
It is not working on the 02 sim either so im thinking its faulty.
Not really wanting to unlock it incase it effects sending it back, any comments appreciated.

If it's faulty, send it back...what more is there to say? :P
#11
yeah quite right, if its tampered with in any way, thats your returns policy/warranty void.

My wife had a samsung e900 on o2 payg, that was locked but i downloaded a program and unlocked it myself, but think program was only for e900.

I reckon the PAYG phones are generally locked because they are branded but the contract phones are unlocked and generally unbranded other than software.
