That's just a spam site. Never Google '(model number) Android 6.0' etc as you just get linked to these sites. Go directly to XDA developers and search for your phone model. If there is a forum for it and there is a custom ROM then that's the place to learn how to do it. This site is nothing more than a load of bunkum.
Thanks for that i dont know much bit long in the tooth for this sort of stuff, so the comments are fake from people saying thanks ?

Thank you.

There doesn't seem to be a dedicated XDA forum for the Alcatel Onetouch Idol Alpha so I'd just forget about it if I were you.

What phone do you have, which network?

How long is a piece of string?

What phone is it?

Assuming that the upgrade rom is not an OTA (Over the air : as in from the manufacturer) upgrade that you can just tell the phone to update?

So you want to put a custom rom on it?

What happens if it goes wrong? If you are not sure you have the ability to upgrade the rom yourself, what makes you sure you have the ability to fix it if it goes wrong in the future?

Are you are referring to a stock android update or a custom rom. Shops might help with a standard install but I doubt they will touch your phone if its a custom rom as that could lead to all sorts of problems and they wouldnt put themselves in a situation where you could accuse them of bricking your phone.

If the phone works and does everything you want leave it as it is.
#5
Google the phone model and "upgrade marshmallow" and see if the company has released it.
Otherwise it's probably not worth the hassle to start trying to upgrade
#6
Ok as i said i'm not very confident to update it myself so was asking do these shops do it as i have no idea ?
Here is the website that i found does not look that hard but im not sure if i can do it

You need to unlock the bootloader for a start (assuming it isn't already) It'll wipe the phone. If that's an issue then forget about it.

Yeah, sadly with that phone even putting Marshmallow on won't make it perform much better really. Be a lot easier to get a new phone for a massive performance boost.

You'll get 90% back on a gift card on here I reckon - Amazon is basically currency for HUKD users.

Yes, forget it. I got the Motorola G4Play for £79.

Oof, I thought you were on about the Idol 3 to begin with, could do a hell of a lot better than that for £80. It'll probably be fine for your needs though to be honest.

No the other phone was the idol alpha older spec phone i only really need a small screen phone under £100 max for light use cannot really see much better. What would you suggest for £80 then i can't find anything in the size ? the alpha was £50 the idol 3 is £80.
