It's time to upgrade again, I currently have a Samsung Galaxy S5 and although I've enjoyed it, it's becoming slower despite trying multiple different ROMs and it looks a bit beaten up (battery cover broke off and a couple of dinks around the edges). I'm fancying an upgrade but can't decide for the life of me what to get. I'm wanting 3GB RAM and a FHD screen as a minimum and fancy moving away from Samsung as I've had them from S2. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Depends if you want to go on a contract. I have moved from a S4 to a Oneplus 3, a quick solid phone with a recent official ROM which fixed the random reboot problem.

Pictures and videos are very good, my wife even commented our recent holiday snaps to be better than the point and shoot camera we have.

Bought mine just before the Brexit hike, but i think they're about £329 directly from their website.

depends, what would you use it for? i.e. do you do a lot of gaming? media consumption? just general day to day emails and social media?

these sort of questions will influence the suggestion as certain phones are best for given tasks

Are you sticking with android? Iphone 7 is out soon, this may have 3gb ram, although iOS doesn't need that much.

HTC 10 would be my choice if Apple are out of the question

what's your budget?

I went from a s4 to a Nokia 930 when it came out, big mistake, metal case and got red hot! Apps were awful, now I have the s7 edge, great phone but not worth the price of a 50" smart TV!

I recommend the OnePlus 3 excellent phone for the money.

Not bothered about a budget obviously the cheaper the better as I don't fancy spending 500+ as it could be better wasted on other useless items i'd regret. I do a bit of gaming and a lot of media consumption + web browsing etc. The One Plus 3 does seem decent for the money and I would be sticking with android

I used to have the HTC Desire HD and it's still my favourite phone to this day so wouldn't mind going back to an HTC, I'll check this out cheers

Redmi Note 3 Pro is extremely popular and has deals posted at least once a week.

I was thinking about that phone or some other Chinese phone has anyone had any experiences? I was also looking Vernee Apollo Lite posted here the other day but everything seems good specs and then ends up having some huge flaw

I'd flash the S5 to the DarkLoad custom rom as well ,I'm not looking @ a new phone just yet so cant offer any advice on that!

if you can wait, why not try the ZTE axon 7 when it finally arrives in the UK in large volumes? internals of the one+3 (but with 4GB RAM) with the addition of 1440p display, slightly bigger battery and dual front facing speakers.

slightly more than the oneplus at about £379, depends what you prefer
