URGENT HELP! Please regarding Ski Hire & Lift Passes

Hi guys,

Would anybody be able to advise me about getting deals on ski hire and or lift passes.

I am travelling in two weeks with a party of 17 to Andorra and all was well until we discovered the price we have paid does not include ski hire or lift passes!!! We are trying to contest as we are really quite angry about this and adding on this extra cost could well lead to many pulling out which would be a disaster. It was booked through directline holidays and I was hoping to salvage the holiday by finding decent prices on ski hire and lift passes.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You can do an internet search and book your ski hire on line, lift pass can be priced on line but for a group you may be able to negotiate a discount when you get there.
Best advice I can give is, if you know where you are staying give them a call and see what they can do for you, they usually speak good English and will likely have a connection with a local shop, the call will only be a few pounds and may solve all your problems.

would try and pre book online, we have just come back from andorra, priced up lift passes ski hire and lessons online before we went , but decided to book with hol rep, as we didnt think the prices would have been a lot more, we were sorry then that we had not booked online it had worked out about £80 cheaper if we had pre booked online,

If you're going to grandvalira regions (the biggest one in andorra) then the best prices were definately with the tour companies before leaving. Its only this year that ski passes have been allowed to be sold at less that face value by resellers. Those companies you mentioned seem to cost a few pennies more than the standard prices according to the resort website.

As for ski hire there are a load of them in the resorts and they tend to be slightly cheaper than the tour operators and most times have a better standard of equipment. If you want to save some cash on the passes the resorts have started doing a "5 out of 7 days" pass which reduces the cost a bit if your not planning on skiing the whole week.

I'm also currently looking into grabbing some ski lift passes. The cheapest quote I can find online is through worldski.com too - which is offering me 5% off the quoted resort lift pass price. Anybody that's knows of any discount places offering reduced ski lift passes I would be interested to hear about it too!! (going to Les Arcs 1800)

Also, in case anybody is interested the cheapest hire place I could find for hiring equipment (for Les Arcs) was from www.interlocation.com - which quoted about £70 for a week snowboarding gear.
