URGENT - Help Wanted!!! Cheap basic computer for my Old Dear

Hi - I am looking for a cheap computer for my Mum for Christmas.

Currently she spends most of her time playing basic games from a disc I bought at poundland on an old PC that my company found in an old store room and were disposing of (Believe me its that old I think Noah must have thrown it off the Ark)

I did offer to buy her a games console but she insists that she much prefers the computer - She is a pensioner and doesnt get out much these days and I thought that maybe if I buy her a new one she might be inspired to join the local class which offers 'I.T. for the Terrified' so it will also provide a social aspect

Anyway I am already half way through her Christmas wish list, as well as a few surprises but know she would be thrilled if I got her a new computer - She's a great Mum and so deserves to be spoilt so to finally cut to the chase... (at last I hear you sigh)

I would be grateful if anyone knows of a halfway decent PC for under £250

My retired mum just got a laptop, love her dearly but I've had to block her from msn...she has being going to a computer class and now seems to spend every waking minute msn'in or emailing me to say how much she loves wireless from her couch lol....
Hope you find what your looking for, your mum sounds lovely.

Widnes is in borough of Halton - the council there are tight wads so I doubt it :whistling:

Just out of curiousity though, have you got a link with some additional info - maybe I could shame them

Thank you Chunky - she is ace but thankfully shes a long way off from MSN. She has only just discovered the art of texting, although it takes her ages and still resembles some sort of code
I dont know how many times I have showed her where the space button is she still puts full.stop.between.every.word :p
