As per the above. I am traveling in couple of days and need to take a TV with me. The smart features and Freeview turner would be redundant and used mostly to watch Satellite TV for sports, DVD and PlayStation 4 hook up.

I have looked at the following:

Digihome TV (43 inch)
http://www.tesco.com/direct/digihome-287dfp-full-hd-43-inch-smart-tv-with-freeview-play/162-8565.prd?skuId=162-8565

Technika 50 inch FHD.

Which one of these two is a better buy for my needs. Also alternatives maybe suggested. Max spend is 300. Thanks.

The bigger the better IMO. I have always had cheap tv's and never had a problem. All have had a good picture and sound. Maybe see if Tesco has them on display maybe go see for yourself which you prefer.

I've had a couple of refurbished TV's from Tesco Outlet & they were brand new, 12 month warranty

I have that Digihome from Tesco and it is great. Haven't had any problems with it at all. Great sound quality and fab picture.

You need to urgently travel with a giant tv onboard?
Really?

Thanks for that. Could you tell me more about the digihome interface please, is it unacceptably sluggish? Also if you play game on it, how is it?

LOL. yes. the TV's back home are way more expensive! Also they sell substandard goods because they are able to get away with it. An LG xxx model sold back home won't be same to LG of same model sold here. One thing is how the ones from here are usually heavier in weight and have different internals (even though they carry same label)

plus import is always better mentality lol.

Hey guys. I ended up getting a Blaupunkt FHD 49 inch LED TV. it has smart features but no Netflix on it lol. No big deal. I quickly hooked up to the ps4 and it seem good. Paid 279 for it from my local Tesco this morning.

Cheers for all your inputs and pointers.
