Quick question - are there plastic "caps" that you can use to cover up a broken USB port? My ancient laptop came with a broken USB port - trying to see if it's possible to get a cover/cap/seal so I don't accidentally plug it into the wrong port.

They are indeed, I've just done a quick ebay search... 191840355333 enter that number into the eBay search, plenty of colours too, hope this helps

as with treboeth I would use tape, ideally that matches the colour of the case, but that's just my preference

A bit of decent tape is the safest and easiest way.
