I got exactly the same thing, but could do nothing to block them. So I had one solution, take all my money off my bank account. After a day of 2 I got the message that payemant went wrong. So make sure you got under 160 euros on your bank so they cant take it.

Did you cancel your free trial?...do they have your credit card details? Assume they would have taken these on sign-up for the trail, but don't see why they would't have just taken payment if that was the case....so could always just be spam/phishing attempt.

When you say they are threatening you, in what way? Can you post the email, obviously with any personal information blanked out.

I would have thought they'd have just taken the money also. All I can think is that I paid with a card which has since expired but any subscription stuff I normally pay with PayPal.I've googled it and many people have had the same problem. Here's part of the email...
"concerning the claim of Aviteo Ltd. - Gainsborough House, which we are representing, we contacted you on 14.08.2014 and informed you in detail about the outstanding payment.

The actual claim added up to 162,93 EUR so far and results from the delivery of goods/rendering of services plus extra costs due to the delay in payment.

Unfortunately, we have not yet received any payment.
However, it is surely within your own interest to finally close this matter by paying the outstanding amount.

To avoid considerable additional costs and inconveniences we kindly ask you to settle your debt at the latest by 31.07.2014. Please use the following payment methods:
f you should however fail to meet the above mentioned deadline we are instructed to initiate further steps without any further reminder.
Yours faithfully

Does not sound legit to me.

If it does not come to your home/registered address using a track-able delivery service it does not exist and I would not give it a second thought!
#6
As above.. Also they want you to settle before you even got the email.
we contacted you on 14.08.2014

The wording seems a little suspect. Even if it is from a legitimate (and I use the word loosly) DCA, I would still ignore it.

Also, as its's a pre-pay service, and you did not renew (as you card expired or you cancelled the trial) then how can you owe money for a service you've never had!!

Ignore until you receive anything in the post or you notice anything on your credit file. I suspect they will give up fairly shortly if you just give them the silent treatment.

Hey, I also received a similar letter. I was wondering what happened in the end with your dealings with them?

I had the dreaded dealings with them years ago and I just ignored they gave up after a year or so lol. As others have said you pay pre-pay on a month by month sub with no contract term. They still even sending me emails with "special offers" also lol.

I have also received a letter from them, and I have absolutely no intention of paying. Let me know how you get on :)

Yups and emails also. Don't have the letters anymore but below is an example of the emails they kept sending lasted around 4 months before they stopped.

Thanks for the reply :) I take it they didn't actually take any legal action against you then? The thing that makes me laugh is that it says on UseNext's homepage that "You will only be charged once for the entire term of the contract." Surely that negates anything they have squirrelled away in their small print. Bunch of ass hats!

No never. Can you even imagine the court case "so what service did you provide them - direct downloads of dodgy movies and pc programs". Considering also you pay them for a month upfront and not as if it was a 12month contract or anything not that it mattered I had been with them 3-4 years. Each letter also the value went up and down each time and the part "is about 53.22 Euro" what so you don't even know either lol. Never was any sent recorded delivery so how could they prove I was still at that address or even received a single letter. Anyhow all ignored and nothing ever happened.

They still sending me emails about offers they have if I come back lol.

My husband has been receiving these same letters in the mail for months. He doesn't recall ever using their service, but thinks his old business partner might have at some point which would've been years ago. The latest letter received today says that they're contacting their attorney to take legal action against him unless we send the money to the PayPal account. Hoping they'll give up soon. My husband tried emailing them a couple months ago and got no response...

obviously they have been hacked and never pay usenet sites with credit card, pay with an evoucher or prepaid cc

If you search around you will find that this has been going on since 2008 and not one court case has been reported.
What appears to be happening is Usenext has been selling its outstanding debts to these debt collecting companies, what it fails to mention to them is the pay as you go element, no payment no service........eventually the debt collecting company passes it on to their legal team only to find out that they have no case.

I too have been having these threatening letters , i think its an outright scam how these people can even try and get away with this, i have just had my 2nd letter and have no intention of paying at all, has anyone to date know of any court cases or anyone been affected credit rating wise? keep the thread going expose these cheats

My husband hasn't received any more letters since I posted my comment four months ago, so I'm hoping they may finally be done bothering him!

Hi I am from the U.S and I never paid upfront for services as I cancelled my trial through PayPal--right away thinking this was a shame. I week later and sent me a notice saying I could not use their services if I did not pay, so I took this as my service was cancelled by default. However, months later they have been hounding me for a payment (in Euros, which turns out to be like 200 U.S dollars almost). Thinking about contacting PayPal about this...Although I don't think they can effect my credit in the U.S., but I could be wrong.
#23
I too registered for the trial via paypal and cancelled via paypal. I'm now getting threatening letters from a debt collection agency, but I won't budge.
This whole thing is a bad joke.
Anyone interested in starting a lawsuit against these jokers? They've been doing this since around 2009.
#24
I have a similar issue with a fraud company named Usenet.nl.
I am sure I never ever used their services, in fact you need to install software for that. I never downloaded that either, but somehow they have my name and address. I visited the horrible company and well you know how it goes:, big letters saying TRY FREE, somewhere small letters saying if you do not cancel your account within two week you automatically have a subscription. But where do you cancel your account, I cannot find any button or what. Then the jokes start with inkasso emails and letters......today I received another email from this Tesch Inkasso company. It's only pathetic.
#25
I have received a letter in the mail from them. I don't ever recall signing up for their services in the first place and have never used their site. I looked up what their company offered and was certain I would not have used them. A few people do have access to my Paypal account so maybe thats how. I emailed them. They responded that they cannot do anything about the current balance but they cancelled my account starting May of 2017. I too am wondering how a company that doesn't provide a service unless I pay try and turn me over to a collection agency. Anyone have any updates or success getting them to back off? I will not be paying them for something I have never used or benefited from.

I've also been receiving letters from them and I won't be paying either.
Not sure if we can do anything, they're clearly never going to take it to court, just endless harassment.
#27
me too as of Monday, it appears they are doing the annual chase..... I've no intension of paying either.
#28
They renewed my account for another year after I cancled six months ago. I signed up for a package the day I created an account. Now they're saying because I signed up for a package when the trial, which I didn't want a trial, was going on, it signed me up for two accounts. Who the **** does that? I had no idea about the two accounts. I threatened to sue them if I got another bill.
#29
They are saying I have to pay by 23rd of September 2016 as court will not allow anyone who not willing to pay. Is it true they will take me to court if I don't pay by deadlines? Or court will be evolved?
#30
No one pays

No one goes to court

I just received a letter and it's all scaring me due to me only being 17! I really don't want my parents finding out is there away I can stop letters coming through? As I had enough of being frightened by it all.
#32
I just got a letter in the mail today from Aviteo asking to pay up £106.35 they also give the dates i used there service which i have never used while i was on holiday far from internet access. Will they do anything??
#33
I been told no its all a scam but I'm still scared as anything
#34
so it appear they are offering me a discount if I pay early!!

We are writing you again today regarding to the above mentioned matter.
Our client is currently entitled to receive a payment from you for the sum of 50,09 EUR.
Part of this total amount results from extra costs due to the delay in payment, interests, and account fees.
To finally close this matter, we are willing to cancel some of these costs for you.
The conditions to keep the costs lower, however, is that you make an time compromise settlement of 40,00 EUR to be transferred no later than 16.09.2016.
If you do not make a payment within the given deadline, which would show the demonstration of an unwillingness to pay, we will initiate further legal steps against you.
Considering our offer to you, it would surely be in your interest to avoid extra costs, resulting from further legal steps.
After the deadline has expired, the compromise settlement will become invalid and the full amount will again be due to be paid immediately.
We hope that you will appreciate our willingness to compromise and that you will make the payment in time.

i`ve forgotton amount of letters i have had from these idiots, making threats you are going to court etc, and then offering me deals at lower cost, i have no intention or never had of paying they have said now 3 times i am going legal but still get stupid letters, just ignore them, i am nealy a year in and i still get them, if i was going legal i would have gone by now, , DONT PAY THE SCAMMERS, not one person has been to court yet and they have to prove you had the service first anyway, as these do not provide any service without payment first so how can they say you owe them anything, as said im in same boat, 1 year in , IGNORE THEM dont even reply

I've been a customer of UseNext for many years. Everything was fine until about two years ago I had problems logging in. I called customer support (in Germany) and they fixed the problem. Back in March, I discovered that they had been billing me for a second account - that I wasn't aware of and never used. I wrote to them, saying they were charging me for a second account, and that I never used it and wanted a refund. They were not exactly sympathetic. I was told that no refunds were possible. I wrote back explaining that I was still a customer, happy to continue, but just wanted the second account stopped. No reply. So I cancelled the payments via PayPal. Next thing, I get a letter demanding payment - with additional fees - and threats to hand my account over to a debt collector!

Not exactly good customer service!
#39
Looks like they forwarded all of the case information to their lawyers. Wonder if they are going to pay my travel cost so they can sue me or if they'll pay travel expenses to come to America for the money they claim I owe. The transportation would be more money than the claim is even worth.
#40
Wait I have some questions about usenext and the collection agency "Aviteo" tied with it.
I received a letter from Aviteo saying I owed 106,35 EUR to usenext, but I never opened an account with them.
Now I don't want to pay for something I never signed up for so I'm wondering:
1. Will my credit score be affected? I don't even have a bank account/ credit card so will this start my credit? (I use prepaid cards and PayPal to buy stuff online)
2. Will they take it to court?
3. If I don't pay, what happens?
4.How do end this account/service?

Kind of worried by the letter and hope this doesn't start/mess up my credit somehow... I don't have any bank account/credit card. I'm 17yrs old so I dont know what to make of this. Should I be worried?
