Vanilla Smelling Perfume

Ok, this is a long shot...

I was in Tescos the other day, and a girl walked past with perfume that was pretty much pure strong vanilla, one of my favourite smells. I almost stalked her through the store... Anyone know what brand it would be, and where can I get it? Need to buy it for the girlfriend before I get myself into trouble!

Many thanks! :P

Go into bodyshop and smell it first. There are many other companies that make similar more synthetic ones. Bear in mind, it will smell a lot stronger in the shop.

They used to do it in oil and spray, not sure now. Staff are very helpful and might even give you a sample.

This is one of the nicest requests I have seen posted here, how sweet. You sound a very romantic person

Angel perfume is very vanilla-y - I think they have it at Boots etc

If you have a nose and taste like me it will be White Musk! I think this is from the Body Shop as well.

ex-girlfriend used to wear it.

Love the stuff, shame that when I smell it, it reminds me of her.

Another possibility, yet admittedly more expensive than Body Shop, is http://uk.loccitane.com. They have an extensive range of vanilla based products such as 'Eau de Vanilliers'. Went to the outlet village at Bicester yesterday and bought 125ml eau de toilette for £17.40

Thanks very much indeed. Bought the Body Shop oil, and although it smells lovely, it's not exactly the same one. I'll try some of the more expensive options next! I'll report back when I have success :)

This one sounds very promising, but I'll need to order from America I think. Anyone had any experience with Laura Mercier Eau de Toilette - Vanille Gourmande?

Angel is my favourite scent - its got lovely bergamot, patchouli, vanilla. Very sexy. Thierry Mugler is a god! Did you manage to try/smell/buy that, redders?

BTW the neroli jasmine (white) at body shop is divine too..

I agree with heineken66 - the l'occitane vanilla line is gorgeous (while you're there buy some green tea and jasmine candles  )

Yep, iglimpse too - redders, ya sound like a sweetie ;o)

Sowwy, I haven't tried Laura Mercier.

Nina Ricci does a perfume that smells of vanilla, I can't remember the name - even though I used to wear it!! It's in a blue swirly bottle with a green shiny lid that sort of looks like a crown. It's around £17 for a small bottle.

It never ceases to amaze me, how quickly a smell can transport you back many years, instantly. 18yrs ago about the time when my son was born, I wore White Linen by Estee Lauder. I look for it in shops, to have a free spray to remind me of that time, it is so powerful.

On the other hand YSt Laurent Ystis I think, reminds me of a previous unhappy relationship. A few yrs later someone bought me a huge bottle, I had to give it away because instantly brought back too many bad memories.
