You're not alone, there's a few people that they have done the same to in the deal thread, including myself.

It seems like it is our word against theirs and there's not much we can do unfortunately.

It's not worth messing up your credit over, I'm resigned to paying it off and never dealing with the thieving **** again.

Just checked my account and it says:

17 Jan 2017 Cash Back Promotional Credit £73.99

I was getting geared up to fight with them over this too as I honestly didn't expect them to honour it (80 cash back for PS4 deal). Interested to see if anyone they don't honour actually manages to win their fight with Very.

Thanks for the heads up .. Added to Argos , Npower and Vodafone as companies never to buy from .

very did the exact same thing to me, but with a washer dryer i had ordered. luckily, i noticed on the statement or website before they actually delivered the item. i then told them on the online chat and they changed it to interest free credit as it should have been. Maybe you could try this- keep asking different chat agents as they all say different things anyway, maybe you will get a decent one.
to cut a long story short, i never had the washer dryer delivered as they kept putting back the delivery date (it was over 2 months i was waiting for it to be back in stock, though when i'd made the original order it was supposedly in stock), and eventually i just cancelled the whole thing.
I have to say, I have NEVER known such shockingly bad service. Not only from them, but from Arrow XL, the delivery company they use. I took time off work more than once to wait for the delivery, which had never even been in stock with very in the 2 months since i ordered, and yet they still sent me all the delivery texts etc and i called and they confirmed! :P Will never buy anything from them again, no matter how cheap it is. i also sent them a complaint and got no response at all.

Remember 13 yrs ago when they were called LXdirect and they tried to take back money off vouchers.

They backed down in the end when it was publicised in the media.

had the exact same thing with them over the last few weeks I purchased under buy now pay later but after 2 weeks I found out they don't do pay now but later with a new account for the first 28 days which they never tell you that when purchasing
#7
I'm suffering the same kind of problem. They sent me an email offering £20 off my next order of £40+ if I revive an old very account. Did it and no credit. They tell me to email various departments who don't reply or just tell you to email someone else or call. When I called up the rep misunderstood me then put me on hold and hung up! Contact them via facebook or twitter it helped me a bit.

Did they tell you that or did you find it on their website somewhere?

I think that is exactly what has happened to me. I was a new customer and the website let me choose buy now pay later but it apparently didn't go through that way..

they told me that after I rang them when I seen my bill as didn't have but now pay later on it as it doesn't tell you any of this information on there website worsed company I have ever dealt with and had a few bad ones

Exactly what happened to me too when buying a laptop at Christmas. The only reason I bought from them was for the cashback on the account but they said I didn't do a BNPL account when I was pretty sure I did so they refused the £50. Got nowhere arguing with them over it.
#11
What makes it even more annoying is that when I noticed, I phoned them and they switched mine over to BNPL and promised me I would receive the cashback.

I had no end of problems with arrow xl delivering a bed frame, they turned up to my house only to search the entire 7.5 ton trick and realise they didn't have my bed. Someone managed to "lose" it in the warehouse. How is anyone's guess, they stopped speaking to me when I said the only logical explanation was someone had nicked it, all of a sudden I wasn't their customer

Worst company on earth to deal with. No customer service whatsoever and shocking wait times.

Never again.
#14
I was a new customer signing up for the BNPL PS4 deal, so I don't think it's true about the new customers can't get BNPL thing. Sounds like a fob off to me.

johnnnnra is it worth talking to very via live chat and getting them to say you didnt do buy now pay later , screenshot and get them to send your convo with them and when they want paying when your due to , enail the chat of themselves saying you didnt setup a buy now pay later with them ???

As above, experienced issues with Very with the purchase of a washing machine. I won't bore you with the ins and outs but it broke (actually, it self combusted) within 6 months of purchase and it's at this point Very demonstrated a complete misunderstanding of the fundamental basics of consumer law, refusing to do anything to resolve the situation. I wasted hours trying to get anywhere with their outsourced call centres and reached a stage where I've just had to write this off, it's not worth the hassle. Won't be using this company ever again.

you have to go the manufacturer to get a replacement when going with vary as my brother found out he opened his xbox one brand new and sealed it didn't work and was told by vary because he's opened it he would need to contact Microsoft to get a repair or replacement

I've had terrible experiences with argos, I usually avoid buying form them if I can, cant say the same for the others however with vodafone now, their customer service is pretty abysmal but I am still getting what I need with a little extra effort than expected, can you share your bad experience with them please?
I ordered a phone with them and got the wrong colour and they assured me it was my fault someone had put the order in blue instead of black as I specified, ultimately the phone is in a case regardless and I can't see the colour so it doesnt make a difference just their service suck
#22
Just had a minor victory.

They still haven't acknowledged any mistake or wrongdoing on their part but have offered a £40 "gesture of goodwill" in place of the £40 they actually owe me.

Worst shopping experience ever, and that includes the time I got scammed by an Amazon seller!

Vodafone after 3 months decided to take a double payment from my account ... Took about 6 weeks to get it back . Also on cancelling I phoned and asked for pak code to transfer number . Guy on phone said there was issue and phone tomorrow . I phoned and was told he had " requested " code and it would get texted to me . No text ,I phoned back . Another Guy said it had never been requested and he would do it . No code , phoned and another guy started laughing , I asked to speak to supervisor and was passed to his mate , who put the phone down. By this time I simply gave up and stuck with number of new contract . Never again. I know it may sound trivial but I phoned maybe 6 times and sitting up to 1 hour a time waiting to get through , only to have the phone put down you. Life's too short.

I have just emailed them via my account to close my account too. I will not be using them again and will urge others at every opportunity to not use them either.

That makes sense, not at all trivial, they sound like bad customer service

have you tried to ever get very to do it? even though it's against the law they don't care and keep saying go to manufacture this is 1 of the reasons they are an awful company

EXACTLY THE SAME on a £100 cashback.. They even said, your not the only one who has reported this issue!

Offered me £50 if I agreed there and then, said that if I hung up the offer would be withdrawn and no new offer given. I was fuming and told them to stop trying to push me into a desition without any time to consider the offer or the information provided and I would not be backed into a corner - Unfortuynatelly that only got me 24 hours leeway!

Will call again in the morning and try again!!!!!
