Thinking of getting rid of Virgin TV and just keeping the internet. We only watch a few programs so can easily get them on iplayer etc. The only problem we have is that the kids watch Nickelodeon. Is there another way of getting a few shows off there via some other means.
We have a PS4 and Chromecast.
Is Nowtv any good?
Have heard about Kodi on a Firestick, but don't know which would be best.
Any advice greatly appreciated.

Now TV is really decent for kids tv & relatively cheap. They have a number of deals around, such as 14-day free trial or add-on package if you sign up to Vodafone contract/etc. You could always try the 14-day trial and see if your kids get on with it. Or Netflix do one month free.

Need a good Internet as have 2 console gamers in the house and 2 others on YouTube.

sky offered sky q for £12 a month with boxset bundle which I've taken. Virgin media charging me 45 pound a month just for 100 Internet. Think that's a bit steep. Might phone back and cancel . See if they offer anything else.

I would recommend Kodi installed on Firestick as I've cancelled my Sky and NetFlix services and am contempt.

We left Virgin for Sky at the beginning of the year and the internet is the only bit I regret. I got used to the speed of Virgin's fibre offering, and Sky's comes nowhere near.

I play online a fair bit, and with the two kids watching YouTube on their iPads and my wife just browsing the internet I didn't have enough bandwidth to stream the PS4 to my iMac. Download speeds through Steam and suchlike are about 1/10 of what I was getting though Virgin. The promised 76Mbs is often around 20, and that's on a good day. I know the fibre only goes to the box, but that's about 100 yards from my front door so it's not being forced to travel far.

Managed to haggle virgin internet to £31 a month. Plus sky tv for £12. Saved about 19 quid a month today. :)

You won't find better internet then Virgin, I put up with the having to have the TV & Phone line. But have thought about moving to just internet.

Best of both worlds :-)

Call virgin can probably talk them down, it's cheaper to keep all three than switch to just Internet

I wouldn't as it can be a pain in the backside with buffering and broken links plus it's not exactly legit.
I find kodi addons have become quite unreliable as of late.
