Virgin Media Superhub 2.0

I have the Virgin Media superhub 2 and the WiFi signal it sends out is rubbish! Is there anyway to fix or atleast improve the signal strength that this sends out? I have power-lines that I use to connect to the computer and laptop. But for devices such as phones and tablets I don't know what to do, is the only option here is for me to buy a range extender?

Thanks for any help.

Yes ! ,run it in modem mode, lose the homeplugs (or keep if you like them), lose the extenders and buy an asus rt-n66u router for around 99 quid. Job done, good signal throughout whole house.

Remember to update it with merlin firmware

Move it away from other possible sources of wireless interference (ie from behind the telly, underneath a shelf, next to a wireless phone hub etc).

If you still get problems log into the router (192.168.0.1), with the details on the bottom or side of it, and change the wireless channel it is operating on, i find channels 3 and 11 are more productive, personally.

are you connecting to the 5g signal? I find the 2g signal works for much greater distances

make sure the side with the blue lit up circle is not pointing into your garden away from all the rooms in the house. the "engineer" did this with mine.

Maybe a faulty unit, have no problems with mine.

have a look on the settings. there is one think its in advanced that lets you choose between distance and performance. worth a tweak to see if it helps..

Change wi-fi radio channel to 11.

As above I called virgin and they changed the wifi channel.
Only issue I get is they slow my bandwidth down on Sundays!

1 and 11 work best. Weird about Sundays.
