I have a code for 6 months free Netflix from Virgin. Before I use it to sign up to the UK site, I just wanted to know if I can use the free code on the US Netflix site, and how would I go about it?

Zenmate extension on google chrome

So would I sign up to the US site through there, and do you know if my code will work?

No, just join the UK site with your code, it makes no difference, any netflix account works on any countries, you just need to access that countries site, whether it's through a vpn, dns or browser extension, it doesn't matter where you make and register the actual account though,

Ah, great. Cheers badass ;)

One last thing - I've signed up now but will I only be able to use the US site if I stream from my computer? I presume it will be more complicated, if it's possible at all, to use the US site with my Tivo or XB1?

you will need to change your dns setting through your router google it, it's quite easy

I've never done it, and have never used Netflix, Tivo or am XB1, but I know from reading on here you can do it on a PS3 at least by changing the DNS, I imagine the XB1 can do the same, but it might need someone with more practical experience to give you DNS codes and settings navigation.

Ok. I'm happy to stick to the easier, streaming method rather than start messing with DNS settings, which I know nowt about. But I have just changed my location on Zenmate to United States, but when I try the Netflix site it says "Sorry, Netflix hasn't arrived in this part of the world yet". Are you familiar with zenmate?

Thanks but dunno yet X) I've got onto the US site via Zenmate and I can find stuff thats on in the US but not here. It plays fine on my laptop but when I try to stream it to my Chromecast, netflix says 'Oops, something went wrong - netflix streaming error...' A bit like this http://www.buzzfeed.com/scottybryan/xx-classic-films-and-tv-shows-us-netflix-has-but-uk-netflix

It looks like streaming to a Chromecast is the problem and the solution looks way beyond me http://www.expertreviews.co.uk/media-streamers/1400939/how-to-get-us-netflix-on-chromecast-and-roku-streaming-stick

It's ok everyone. I've got US Netflix working on my laptop and I just remembered that I've got a 10 metre HDMI lead, problem solved :)

Thanks for all your help.
