Buying a Christmas present for a good friend, pros and cons of each please.

I have test drove both, checked reviews etc but wanted some info from current/past owners if possible.

Thanks.

Did you go for the Ferrari instead?
Your friend would prefer that.

Personally I would say the golf, I have one myself (although its a GTD) and love it, once you've had a golf you realise its a great everyday car! But it also comes down to personal preference and usage, with the AWD system in the r32 you'll feel a lot safer as you should stick to the road haha, whereas in the the 130i (especially in the rain) you'll be sliding about easily and its a pain for someone who doesn't want to be... Is it for commuting or what? Just think about the practicalities of it

Can I be your friend? I'm lucky if my mates buy me a pint!
