Hmm, I sure hope they don't get away with it. Maybe someone should start up a new petition and get as many people to sign it.

I've used them and always found them to be very courteous and helpful. They've got the biggest range second to Amazon. I don't know what reviews you've seen but I note that reviewcentre and trustpilot seem a pretty positive outlook them. :)

I ordered a WdTv Live from them on 10/03/2012. It's due to be here friday using the free 7-10 working day delivery option. I was a bit dubvious too reading all the reviews after I had made my purchase. Will see what happens friday. If it doesn't come however, I will be intiating a refund back through my bank as paid by debit card and also via trustguard as I have read people got instant refunds that way. Will post the outcome for you friday. As both a customer service agent gave me that date via phone and also Darren a director gave the same date via e-mail.

In all honesty, for the couple of pound saving I made, If I had have realised it was going to take so long. I'd have paid an extra £2-3 and went elsewhere and had it 7 days ago and counting.

If your worried about purchasing in genereal however, just don't go the bacs route. As you'll take away your safeguards. Luckilly i hadn't even considered that.

Heheyy.. It arrived. Came around 11.30am today to a very delighted me.

So my verdict would be this, use one of the safer payment methods for peace of mind.

Feel free to order if you don't mind waiting a little longer than usual/you're saving considerably.

Reading the other reviews, I should imagine the negative ones perhaps didn't wait long enough for the product to arrive. I think it may depend on where your located and what you're ordering to specific delivery times. It seems a lot of people in the bigger citys and closer to birmingham get there orders within days. I'm not sure if this is product related, or distance. But I'm on the south east coast, and for me it took 10 worrking days. It's longer than I've ever waited for goods to come before, but everything is intact and so my response is positive. The company is legit. Who knows where they'll be in a few years time.

this statement is contradictory:-

"this is appears to be the most reliable cheap website but there are quite a few poor reviews for it."

Hey, have a read of this article.

I think this explains it better - http://www.scamwebsites.co.uk/scam-websites-blog.html?view=entry&year=2012&month=01&day=03&id=11%3Awe-are-electricals

Like I said above, don't pay by direct bank transfer... you have more safeguards that way.

At the end of the day, I recieved my goods. So I'm not one to complain. My only problem was that it took longer than usual to deliver, but if the website read 7-10 working days instead of just 7-10 days, I would have expected it. In the e-mail I recieved from D.C, it did note that they were going to change it.

I suppose everyones experience can differ.

MOST.
The most reliable scammer doesn't mean they are reliable.

Try this number mate, 0121 663 0717. Takes you to the same place and avoids the 0845 cost. I think I waited around 3 days for a reply to my email. And yes the cash was taken immediatlty.

If you've paid by card you only have to do a google search on how to reclaim it. People have tried various ways, of which some seem to be much more effective than others.

Tnx Jsis, will wait mon/tues to see what happens. This is my "latest" delivery date........

When they say 7-10 day (working) they mean it, over two weeks! must be an overworked Clydesdale.
Ordered 19th due 3-5 April, if not I'll get a refund.

The excuse is that it's coming from Europe, so must be special ones if you pay for express p&p.

This is exactly what got me, after waiting close to a week, I became concerned. I had read reviews where a lot of peeps were saying their goods came within 3-5days and this is what settled it for me. I thought they had just entered that to cover themselves. They defiantly do mean it though. I ordered on the 10th/03. When I questioned the delivery date, I was originally given the 20th-25th.

Before I recieved my order, I could have ordered it again from the same site and saved a further £2!! I think they need to work on that. I wouldn't order from them again unless I was saving lots of pounds. It just isn't worth it.

Well it finally arrived after a serious attack of L/R Hand syndrome from WAE+. Was given three different carrier names, had to again call for a tracking number, was given the wrong one... FULL MARKS TO YODEL FOR SORTING IT OUT. (5 calls, average wait 35 minutes). 5 Emails sent, one answer. Oh and it arrived with an asian wall plug on the mains adapter and no clips.

Still not received my item, now 13 working days! and guess what they are not answering their phone, what a shower of shysters. Never again.
#17
Sounds dodgy just from noise on internet, and best way to tell a fake is post in misc and see if new accounts sign up to defend them. (_;)

I must be sooo damn lucky lol.. I was prepared for the worst case after waiting a week and then looking a little deeper. Luckilly my order was ok. Maybe I should purchase a lottery ticket this weekend :) Least it gives anyone thinking of buying, a better understanding than some of these review sites do. You can tell people here have actually ordered. There's debate, not just script ! And it's up to date.

Mine is over the estimated delivery by a few days now and i'm not feeling optimistic.

I used them last week to buy an Iomega Portable Hard Disk as they were selling it cheaper than anywhere else and they had 6 items in stock.

They charged my credit card straight away and changed the status of my order to "Awaiting Fulfillment". One week later, my order still says "Awaiting Fulfillment" (which according to their website means that payment has been taken and they are about to dispatch).

If you call the number stated on their website, it takes you to an automated message that points you back at the website (whats the point of that, other than to scare customers who have paid money and are looking for support).

I have requested a refund via their messaging system (as I am unable to contact a human being). As the item has not left their premises, I can see no reason for them not to refund me - watch this space, I'll update on the outcome.

I am not able to comment on their actual level of customer service as all my attempts to contact them have pointed me back to the FAQs on their website.

I regret not researching them before paying the money - as if I had read this forum, I wouldnt have bothered.
#21
There's a phone number posted earlier in this thread that avoids the 0845 one, try using that. My order said awaiting fulfillment right up to the moment it was almost dispatched. Then it changed to Item allocated and then I recieved it. No where from the time of order to the time of delivery did I get a tracking number. But it did still arrive. They're not the quickest when it comes to replying to e-mails either. I'd give it 10-15 working days max.. then do whateva you have to do.

I don't understand why provide such a poor service on delivery, loadsa places do it free and you still recieve goods promptly. There's no way I'd pay over £10 to get it next day.All that does is make other outlets cheaper !!

WE ARE SCAMMERS (aka WE ARE ELECTRICALS)
Goods are ordered for delivery in 10 days with payment by bank transfer.
When the goods don't arrive their customer service line repeatedly
promises delivery in another few days but this never happens.
When the order is eventually cancelled the refund is promised in 30 days.
This never happens. Their help line makes excuses about technical difficulties,
wrong bank details and then they'll prioritise the refund but it never happens.
I suppose they're hoping that you'll eventually give up pestering them and keep
the money.
They didn't owe me much (£55) so I was considering writing it off to
experience when I discovered the on-line site for small claims.
This process was just easy-peasy from the comfort of your own PC.
There is an initial fee of £25 which is claimed back from the defendant.
You can also claim interest on the sum owed.
I paid the fee and made a claim against them. WAE didn't respond to my claim
within the allotted time period (14+ days) so I asked the court for judgement.
Judgement was duly given in my favor by default.
So they have a County Court Judgement against them.
12 days after that they paid in full to my bank account, the original sum,
the court fee and interest (£100).
If they hadn't I was considering going to the next step which was sending
the bailiffs but this would cost a further fee of £100 which would also
be reclaimable.
So my advice would be to AVOID We Are Electricals but if you're already
HOOKED then make a claim against them using MCOL (Money Claim On Line).
http://www.moneyclaim.gov.uk
WAE's address from their website and used on the claim:
2nd Floor, Quayside Tower, Birmingham B1 2HF

Still waiting for refund from July/Aug last year. Goods re-specified after goods ordered were no longer in stock (after they had been paid for by credit card). Refund for cheaper goods not arrived. In addition another item ordered was never delivered. After many calls to helpdesk and being told that refunds take 30 days, finally got angry and was twice told that complaint and refund would be escalted in Accounts dept and should be through within 7 days. Still no joy, so a month ago I went to our Credit Card company who are looking into it. Unfortunately as they can get no response from We Are Electrical they are not being helpful at the moment. I would not touch them with a barge pole. All the responses from the staff that do eventually answer the phone are the same, so they are obviously reading from scripted responses. Even with email trails advising refunds are due from We Are Electricals, it is still proving impossibke to get money back. I think after reading some of other comments posted, that legal action is the next step.

You really want to avoid this company, I can’t remember how many times they have lied to me.

First advertise stock despite having none, then promising delivery date that never happen, then after requesting a refund on two occasions getting emails the next day saying they have already been despatched so cant refund. Only to find out that they were lying again as they still had no stock, then took several days of asking them to refund and them returning with emails promising other delivery dates.

The first challenge of getting it cancelled was over now the next challenge of getting my money, been promised days when it will be on my card which never happened and have now been told I will get a cheque in the post as they can no longer issue refunds to card (but they can still take money by card I checked that). I will give the cheque a few days then will take the legal option.

Who knows maybe they would have delivered it eventually, but as soon as they got their hooks into my money they have tried every excuse to stop me from getting it back.

Not scammers. Ordered from them a few times. They are on twitter and I have phoned the customer services who have been very helpful. Delivery times are long unless you pay for faster delivery and they now have their product feed linked up to google shopping. I think they are just a small company trying to compete with the big boys and as such they are having/had some growing pains. Their website needs an update too. It's not very professional and so gives people the impression they aren't legit.... Just my 2 cents...

They have been featured on the front page of birmingham trading standards for ages
http://www.birmingham.gov.uk/tradingstandards
"Since November last year Birmingham Trading Standards has received a high volume of complaints from consumers who have ordered goods online from We Are Electricals Ltd. Consumers have mainly complained that goods have not been delivered or that refunds have taken an unreasonable length of time."

The Site also states:

Please note that this information relates to We Are Electricals Ltd only and not any other linked business such as WAE+ Ltd.

'Stock Issues' EXTREMELY SLOW REFUND PROCESS. BUYER BEWARE!
I placed an order for an external hard-drive with this company. I then waited the maximum stated 21 days to receive the item. It Never Arrived. I tried to telephone the company on their customer number. This was useless, as a recorded message states they are busy and simply hangs up on you, no matter what time of day or night. With no reply whatsoever from the customer email address, I found an indirect email address. I eventually got a reply, stating there were having stock issues, the same day I noticed the status of my order had changed, to 'Stock Issues'. By week 4 after order, I was told they had cancelled my order, and would be getting a refund 'in a Few Days'. With No Refund appearing at 5 weeks I emailed them again, and the eventual reply informed me they would require 30 DAYS to process the refund, AFTER the date of CANCELLATION, and this was perfectly legal. At exactly 30 days after cancellation I recieved an email stating I would get my refund within 5 working days. Today 8 weeks after placing the order I never received, I finally get a refund.
Phew! I will NEVER use this company again!
After sharing my review of their company with the public, I was sent a Cease & Desist order directing me to remove my 'Libellous' Comments from this Public forum. I have therefore edited my review to nothing but the truth about my experience with them. Once again, Buyer Beware.
