Hey guys, got a 15% discount code to buy any netbook from comet online

got about £200-£300 to spend on it but want a nice looking one that will hold its price incase i dont use it and want to sell it.

not really needing a very very large battery so anything over 3 hours is welcome.

really leaning towards the sony viao as it looks awesome plus it should hold its price well.

would rather spend -£250 after discount tbh

heres a link to what they have

http://www.comet.co.uk/shopcomet/category.do?categoryId=1959&n=1001959&sort=price_desc&numPerPage=all

TIA

[FONT=Verdana]I suppose the key things are (1) do you need a lot of battery runtime for your netbook purchase, (2) are you happy enough with carrying out hardware upgrades on your netbook (bearing in mind some of them require you to disassemble them i.e. ASUS 1005HA) but also (3) do you need Bluetooth as well.

On a final note do you have an account set-up with Quidco or TopCashBack, to get possible additional cashback as well.

Cheers, Scotty Boy!

was gonna pm you direct lol as you seem to know your stuff about netbooks.

as i said i dont really need alot of battery runtime, anything over 3 hours should be fine.

i can carry out hardware upgrades no probs but would rather not

dont need bluetooth really

im really leaning towards the sony viao as it should hold its price better than the acer ones etc and it looks very nice. plus it comes with the new n280 processor. just need to see if the ram is easily upgradeable

With the dual-core mobile atoms on the horizon and intel's CULV processors getting popular I'm not sure any current netbook will hold it's value that well.

hmm true but i cant really wait for them or probably afford them when it comes out as the 15% off ends on the 24th of dec.

[FONT=Verdana]My gut feeling would be for you to consider the ASUS or Samsung range of netbooks - the N280 processor does not provide a great increase in overall speed & performance (if I remember correctly a review had only shown a 5% increase overall) but also there is a greater number of they're netbooks out, with decent device driver support along with multiple user support communities out there i.e. eeeuser.com.

The Acer range of netbooks are cheap and cheerful but there has been various issues with the 10" screen series (including the larger 11.6") in terms of hardware reliability, build quality and the mixed customer services support provided by them.

Of course this is my thoughts on this but other members will provide different POVs - I would strongly recommend that you look at the netbook models that you can actually safely afford & then follow that up with the reviews out there on the internet, as most online magazines & blogs have carried out reviews on them in great detail.

ah right, theres the samsung n130 for £204 after the 15% discount plus theyre doing a £20 cashback offer too.

its that for £184 or for £240 get the sony viao (not including the cashback i can get)

which one would you choose? the samsung has a much better battery too! hmm i think im swaying towards the sammy as i can install the ram easier too!

[FONT=Verdana]I would suggest the Samsung N130 Netbook...but that's just my POV. ;-)

Remember that you can also get further potential cashback via Quidco or TopCashBack as well, so that should help you out.
