Wanted: Dsl Modem & Router

Hi guys, just wondered if anybody could give me some advise on a dsl modem/router. Ive currently got a desktop pc (non wifi) with a basic dsl modem supplied through vigin media(ntl) however I have plans to buy a wifi enabled laptop so therefore need to go "wireless". Ive been told from a friend who installs wireless connections that buying a dsl router with a modem built in is a better choice than 2 seperate units because there is less headaches when installing. Im on cable 10mb connection, could anybody advise as to any possible makes/models, im looking to spend around 50 pound.
My kids have psps so I would probably have to get those set up with the wifi too.
Many thanks for any responses..

i have 2 for sale, one is a netgear dg834g v3 one is a dlink g604t both are very good brands and i can sell to you for 42 pounds sent today. :)

Many people know dlink and netgear are the main names in routers. These are both g spec wireless 2

i also have tested these with my adsl2+ package with no problems. :)

I have 10mb connection with NTL/Virgin and i am running a Netgear WGT624 which i brought from someone off here and it's perfect for what you want. Obviously i'm not selling mine but you can get them off eBay for around £25 delivered.

You don't want one with a built in modem as it will not work on the network as NTL/Virgin will not recognise it as it's not their equipment.

By the way, mines running a PSP, DS and a Laptop via Wi-Fi with this.

Do these work with cable broadband?

I wouldn't have thought so as ADSL routers won't work on a cable broadband connection.

Just seen the reply so ignore what i said, if they've been tested then obviously so.

Just double checked both of these modems Hope and they DO NOT work with DSL (NTL/Virgin), but are ADSL only (BT/Pipex etc.)

Either go for a new Netgear WGT624 @ Ebuyer (link above) or buy a factory refurbished product with 12 months warranty for £25 + p&p >here<

Ebay products have limited or no warranty, esp if bought in auction.
