I'm looking for a 16gb iphone. CPW have told me all iphone tariffs are the same, but I'm wondering if it's worth buying one (2nd hand or as PAYG) getting it unlocked and going on any tariff I want.

I can use between 600 and 1000 anytime minutes a month, and around 250 texts.

Any suggestions very much appreciated.

Wouldnt trust 2nd hand, warrenty ect etc

if you want buy new pay asyou go and take out sim free? could work out cheaper!

iphone plans are different, they come with unlimited (fair useage) internet useage and access to BT wifi zone. If you get any other plan you would have to pay extra for data.. and trust me iphone without a decent plan is of no use.

my 2 cents.

I too am going to buy one in the next couple of days as im fed up of waiting for an upgrade! if youre going to take out a contract, use quidco from CPW and you'll get £45 cashback, and im still watiting for clarification if you also get the £60 promised for a pay monthly contract or whether its one or the other.

Ordered one of these from CPW, online, yesterday.

£45 per month tariff which gives 1200 mins, unlimited web browsing and free 8gb phone.

Am told that I can reduce to lower tariff in 9 mths time.

Did deal via quidco and got £60 cashback.

Picking the iphone up later today . . . . . . . . yippee

As mentioned, try getting the iPhone sim free and then getting a sim only deal, even O2's sim only deal is pretty good.

Get the iPhone for £391.41 and the simplicity contract for £20 with the web bolt on = Over 18 months that means a total cost of £751.41 with 600mins, 1000txts and unlimited data (plus you can escape the contract when you want)

In comparison an iPhone contract it works out as £155.61 for the iPhone with a contract for £35 a month for 18 months = total cost £785.61 BUT with 500 less texts (600mins and 100 txts) and you are fixed for 18 months.... Quidco is currently only £35 cashback with 02 (tho as mentioned £60 with CPW so thats actually a lot better) so even that only just brings it back in line with the simplicity offer and it STILL has less texts...

Get a 2nd hand iPhone from ebay (for around £320-350) and that makes the simplicity offer even better! PLUS remember that if you use the O2 simplicity sim free card you DONT have to get the iPhone unlocked...

Oh, and remember that you can buy a sim free iPhone from the apple website with the 3% cashback...

just ordered online at CPW (pickup from store :) )
how long should it take to appear in my quidco earnings?

Well on quidco it says that the tracking speed is 0-2 days (so should be tracked quite quick) and the the payment speed is about 2 months.

When you're logged into Quidco look to the right of the page when ur looking at the Carphone warehouse entry on quidco and itll tell you all you need to know

I recommend buying from Apple via Quidco - then unlocking (They come as 2.1 so you can), then phoning up onestopphoneshop.co.uk and telling them you want a good deal, including lots of cash back, with an unlimited internet bolton. It's what I did - i've got 800mins, unlimited texts, unlimited internet, for about £20 a month after cashback.

p.s Mine didnt actually track via quidco though, I had to submit a ticket (which i'm still waiting on)

You may as well get the o2 Simplicity tariff for £20 then, then you don'y have to worry about cashback and there's no contract.
