My good old Casio it's in a bad state now so I've decided that I need a new watch. This time I think I'm gonna go for Seiko or Sekonda. So if you guys know some good deals on one of those just please let me know. thanks

My watch is beautiful though...I don't normally like designer watches either because they're well overpriced but this one is really beautiful.

I might dig out a pic for you later but only if you promise not to copy me and become watch twins. :p

This is a good deal - Seiko Sportura Worldtimer for £105 here http://www.timefactors.com/seiko.htm

Although I'd be interested to know why you wish to restrict yourself to Seiko or Sekonda (also, it's going to be very difficult to spend 3 figures on a Sekonda as this is a low end brand).

It would also be good to know what sort of features and/or styling you are interested in.

what about second hand watches?

Well, ive heard a lot of good things aboud sekonda watches and i must say i like some of their designs. Seiko obviously its a top brand. Im looking for something sportish, chronograph, preferably with steel case and bracelet.
ADZ1478 - i dont really buy second hand stuff ;)

The Seiko above is also a chronograph btw.

Having looked a little further I've found this. It's not a Seiko or a Sekonda; it's a Tissot PRC200 chrono and it's £201.80 incl del here http://www.amazon.co.uk/Tissot-Gents-PRC-200-T17-1-586-52/dp/B000L3CHC0/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&s=watch&qid=1233957339&sr=1-6.

But, you'll not see many of these about and they are darn good. Seems to tick all the boxes for you and Swiss too.

The blue dialled version is available for £183.25 incl del here http://www.watchfinder.co.uk/Tissot/PRC200-Watches/T17.1.586.42-c3554-watch.aspx. Just my opinion - the black is better, more class to it.

There is also a PRC50 chrono for around £140 but I reckon the extra water resistance (200m static pressure against 50m) and better styling shades it for the PRC200.

the last one looks pretty good, but the website is lame - do u know them?

Excellent reputation in the watch collector amd enthusiast world and been around for years. Pretty much a one man band, very knowledgable. His descriptions may be relied upon.

Website is lame (only recently added a secure server ordering page and you still can't press a 'buy now' button!) when compared to jewellers etc but there's a lot more information and interesting stuff on it if you forage around a bit.

They do specialise more in the mechanical movement side of things but, as you can see from, for example, the Seiko pages, there is a decent selection of interesting quartz watches too. Most of them you'll never see in the mass market high street jewellers' windows which can only be good in my book.

I thought this looked nice, Sekonda 3739 Gents Titanium chronograph reduced to £30 from £125.

I was looking for the exact same thing, found one in the local jeweler that i liked. Tried it on and it looks sweet. The online pictures dont do it justice. Instore for £175 now but online at thewatchhut for £135 (free delivery).
