You might have to stretch your budget, as £150.00p would only get used or refurbished netbooks for you.

Other than the budget do you have any other requirements?

Cheers, Scotty Boy!

Unfortunately the Asda and Tesco deals for the Acer Aspire One Netbooks were a stock clearance by them for newer models that came out - I'll have a look and see if I can find some options for you.

i have an acer one from tesco bought 17/04/09 along with 2 others 2 have a fault (start up just goes round in circles!) anyway i exchanged one and bought an actual laptop with hard drive/cd/and stuff on it, it might be better to pay the extra for a full laptop rather than a netbook no?

But it would appear he's stuck with that limit - if it's only for internet browsing (as per the information from the OP) then a netbook would be more than ideal.

yes but what i am saying is that if it develops a fault and you send it away to acer they can charge you £68 minimum if they reckon its your fault! and also you cannot install the disc that came with it as you would need to purchase an external drive to do this so thats where the hassle and extra money come in.

Here's a refurbished netbook via Dabs (note you can get cashback for Dabs via TopCashBack and also Quidco) to get the ball rolling and is just £10.00p over the budget if you can swing it (it's going for £159.85p).

dabs.com - Acer Refurb Aspire One A110-Bb Atom 1GB 16GB XPH 8.9" Blue (LU.S030B.029)

Edit - Here's a second netbook I've found via Dixons, which is going for £154.99p (with free delivery included). It's not a model I would normally recommend but the budget is I'm afraid limiting your options.

ADVENT REFURBISHED 4489 *REFURBISHED* 8.9" NETBOOK WITH 80GB HARD DRIVE (XP) - cheap Reconditioned Netbooks - Dixons.co.uk

Edit 2 - OP, note that the rest of the options I'm finding are for older generation netbooks including the ASUS EEE PC 701SD. If you want me to include details on them please let me know but pretty much all of them are used, refurbished or graded stock options I'm afraid.

Operating system and application installations can be done via a USB stick, assuming there is access to another computer (if not grab a mate's :)) - I can see where your coming from but it's up to the OP how he wants to proceed with this, as there are very limited options out there for the budget that he's set I'm afraid.

Cheers, Scotty Boy!

Interesting thread as I've been asked to find a Netbook and a Laptop for my cousin's kids... Again the Netbook is purely for interwobble so looking for anything with a 9" screen or above. As for the laptop that needs to be a bit more geared to school and college work along with a bit of music and video, which most bog standard computers seem to handle with ease anyway.

I'll keep my eye out for this thread so ta to advisors and OP alike!
