Wanted Semi-Decent Graphics Card

So Im upgrading my PC at the moment and am looking for something to replace my

GeCube x550

Must be PCI-E

Just ordered the following board :

So must be compatible.

Nothing too expensive so say under £50

Must have DVI and VGA connections or HDMI and VGA

You'll struggle for £50 for anything decent.

I'd recommend going for a 9600GT - which will set you back about £65 if you look around.

PC Pro magazine had a special insert of their "A list" products this month.

For value graphics card their first choice was Nvidia GeForce 9600GT that they said was £85

The second choice was ATI Radeon HD 3850 which they said was £57.

Their summing up of the 3850 was

"At this price the HD 3850 can be considered a budget card, but its performance belongs in a higher category".

Yeah, at £50 the 3850 is the best availible at the moment.

8800GT beats everything posted on here by far!

If you're willing to fork out the extra few pennies, it'll most definitely be worth it! I have one of these cards and the performance is almost comparible to an 8800GTX.

The one you linked is a 256mb version which means that if you're running at 1680x1050 or 1920x1200 your framerate will be lower than a 3850.
