Hi, I need a new washing machine in the next couple of weeks and wondering if anyone has any pearls of wisdom they would like to pass on to help me avoid any pitfalls. I am not looking for much....just a great machine at a bargain price ;)

All and any advice gratefully received.

We have just bought a John Lewis own make, 1400 spin £399 with 3 years free guarantee and free delivery. There aftersales service is second to none.

From personal experience, don't bother with Whirlpools and Indesits. You have to go Bosch or Miele.

Hi Broxy, I could s-t-r-e-t-c-h to £350 max incl delivery charges. Less would be better of course ;-) Looking for a good brand as mentioned above with good economy as far as power usage goes. It will only be used for a 2 adult household so wont be taking the beating a family machine would and doesnt need to be a bigger load capacity machine.

Like the look and reviews of this one..... http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/414395/hotpoint-wmd960g-ultima-1600-spin-8/

I wouldn't buy a hotpoint again. This is what we got to replace our old one which we paid £380 about 4 months ago now reduced to £342 in comet and if you add something for £8 or so there is a voucher in voucher section for another 7.5% off.
