I'll be travelling to Iceland this winter and would like to get some waterproof boots. Every boot I come across that are reasonably priced, a quick amazon review shows people complaining they are not waterproof.

I know I can buy gore tex boots and guarantee waterproof but at £100ish they are a tad out of my budget.

So my question is has anyone here bought or can recommend 100% waterproof walking boots that are less than £50?

Its not that cold / wet in Iceland. They keep most of the ice in freezers with lids on. You get the odd little bit on the floor but trainers or shoes will be fine.

I admire your forward planning skills though. I normally decide to go just on the day, never planned months in advance.

some of the HI-TEC boots get good reviews

As miikey says why do you think you need waterproof boots unless your planning to do some activity where these will be essential.personally if your going in the winter like i went just before last xmas i would just use a good pair of boots that you are used to as it can be very slippy and some good gaiters if your planning hiking etc as the show can get pretty deep. Its a truly amazing place and i am sure you will have a great time.

If you get stuck try some motorcycle boots, I used mine the last time it snowed, they had tons of grip too.

Again depending on who you booked with if no success then you normally get a free trip next day etc to try again.
As for other trips this is the site i normally use
