My sister is getting married and I am helping organise it.....

Looking for ideas for wedding favours....whats the best/most unusual thing you have been given as a wedding favour?

Any good sites/shops/deals/ideas?

Im getting married in 2010 and we're looking at giving lottery tickets as favours - obviously if anyone wins then it'll be 50/50 with the bride and groom :-)

helping my friend with her wedding plans and she has decided on rose petal soaps. You can place 2 in an organza bag and you will be able to pick them up in the sales after christmas. avon have them at the moment.

if anyone is going to the us there are fab sites with 1 $ mirror compacts.

good luck

My friends wedding was done on a tight budget. So what we did was collected nice stones and wrote peoples names on in calligraphy handwriting and then varnished, they doubled as placenames at the table, and then could be taken away.... and FREE... bonus!
My aunty got some posh champagne glasses, and put peoples name tags on those, and the glasses were to take away, I think the blokes got little bottles of JD, and there was lottery tickets inside the glasses.

I'm getting married 2 weeks today! We have done it on a major budget as I'm in my last year at uni. I've made a lot of the stuff myself to save on money. For the favours I got some papier mache heart boxes from ebay (can get them in hobbycraft, but much more expensive!) and painted them red (for my theme), I'm filling them with red jelly heart sweets and white chocolate heart sweets, then tying the box with a ribbon and sticking a paper rose on top. They look lovely and work out at about 90p a favour.

I've made the table plan which looks fab and I will be making the cake the weekend before! I'm doing a cupcake one, so am looking forward to that.

hi, i got married in 2003 & we used lottery tickets as mentioned above. We rolled them up and tied ribbon around them in the same colour as our bridesmaids dress (red as we had a winter wedding). At the end of the night we had 4 or 5 left over so threw them in with our gifts and after the honeymoon checked them to find we won about £70ish. We were on a really tight budget as it was planned in 6 weeks so this was a bonus!!

We were at a wedding and the favours were seeds - I thought it was a brilliant idea - a lasting reminder of the day

How about them little bottles of bubbles that you can get, that look like mini bottles of champagne.
My sister got married in 2003, and her favours were heart shaped biscuits with the names of guests piped on in icing, also doubled up name place cards / biscuits!! Just wrapped up in cellophane with little ribbons matching the bridemaids dresses.
Hope this helps and good luck for the day x

for those who are getting married in 2009/10 but haven't sent invites out, or require Order of Service etc, drop me a PM. I did some for a friend earlier this year. and single-sided invites (slightly smaller than a6) worked out at about 12p each, and the OoS (a5, 4 pages with partchement inserts) about 50-60p each
