I have a Hilka arc welder £50 argos job that's lasted for years.
It will never be the best welder but has welded many things over the years.

If the bike is alloy then you will not be able to weld it without expensive equipment.

If you only need a few jobs, id get them all ready and go and hire one for 24hrs - it should be a better quality welder.
On a side note, if you're not sure what type of welder you need, maybe you should consider if you should be doing it yourself or not....!
