hi guys looking for some advice on what broadband service to go for, i stupidly went for tiscali max broadband last time i changed, was ok to start off with then they thottled me down and now when i do a speed test on speedtest.net any time of the day i get no higher than 300kbps down lol!

so tiscali are useless not only do they throttle me but i havent been able to use my usenet at all either cos they have blocked p2p file sharing but wont admit it, i can only download from rapidshare very slowly!

so i live in IV2 postcode so sky and telewest bulldog etc are not available. i was thinking of bt max top package?

or any better suggestions, want to use my newsgroups again!!!

thanks

Although many have had bad experiences with Sky Broadband. I'm very happy with the MAX (Unlimited up to 16MB (Haha)) Broadband at £10 a month.

Switched from Virgin to Sky about a month ago and also (as mentioned above) despite some bad write ups I have flawless internet for £5 a month at the 8MB max connection speed.
My speed is about 4.7MB.
Brilliant!
But I think you have to have sky tv to get the £5 tariff.
