Hey,
What is the most suitable security camera system for my needs?
I'm in the UK.
Within 8 years I have had four known break-in attempts, one of which was successful.
I live in a ground floor flat with a front door, a back door & 3 large windows in the living room, kitchen & bedroom.
I wish to: monitor each window & door.
See who is at the door.
Be notified on my phone when activity is detected
I want the system to be low-maintenance.
I live 10 metres from an A road.
The distance from my door & window to the gate at the front is 2 metres.
The distance from my door & window to the gate at the back is 3-4 metres.

IP cameras?
CCTV cameras?

Cameras and apps are all very good but they'll not deter a break-in nor create an environment where the thief wants to leave. You'll may know someone has broken in but by the time anyone responds it's too late. I would suggest you go the following route. A Scantronic ION 16 system; simple to self install, no false alarms. You can easily add a GSM autodialler if needed to call you. Inside your flat at a central point install a Master Blaster Sounder by Klaxon. Outside bells are pretty much ignored as a nuisance. This sounder fitted internally will make it desirable for the thief to vacate your flat pdq. I had several of these installed inside my premesis and despite many break-ins no one survived long enough to take anything.
KlaxonSignals make an alarm soundbar too, its name escapes me, it's selling point is the noise generated disorientates anyone within earshot to such an extent they have to vacate the area. On the alarm trade forums they have have amusing posts where a thief has actually tried to stay inside the property. Stealing things is suddenly not their priority.

Would would you choose Scantronic over Pyronix Enforcer?
