Looking for a new washing machine as our old one has broken down.

Originally ordered HOTPOINT WMF940P Washing Machine for £330 (down from £500) from Currys, but I've been told that they're out of stock and the next delivery is expected around March the 15th and the washing is piling up!!

Any help would be much appriciaited. Thank you.

From experience I wouldn't buy a Hotpoint as they are notoriously unreliable. Go for a Bosch, they do well in Which trials, come with a 2 year guarantee and I personally know at least 4 people who own one and have had no problems (including myself)

i have LG, bought 4 year back and still going good- it was 7.5kgs AAA rating, cant remember the model no. but still worth buying an LG

I would recommend Bosch as well. They sell them on the Boots kitchen appliances site which has a fast delivery option and you get loads of boots points too!

Bosch sounds good, I just need some recommendations as they're alot of choice.

Have a look at these. Slightly over your budget though, but its worth imo.

Bosch WAE28364GB - £354.99 from electrical123.

BOSCH WAE2416SUK - £372 from Comet (Use code AW20) or £365 from electrical123.

INDESIT SIXL145K - £310.00 from Comet. (Use code AW10).

BOSCH WAE24364GB - £339.99 (Code AW20) from Comet.

I got the 960P version through next a while back, 8kg load 1600 spin AAA rated. paid £350 for it. delivered by the same company that deals for boots littlewoods etc etc.
Great washer to be honest, the last hotpoint we had lasted about 10 years, then bought a whirlpool which only lasted 2, so now gone back on to Hotpoint

I'd probably go for that if it was me, does everything you need and won't break down in a hurry.

Aren't Hotpoint and Whirlpool the same people nowadays?

We got an LG machine last year after ditching our knackered Hotpoint, which incidently only lasted 3 years.
The LG hasn't missed a beat, bigger wash load than the hotpoint and quiet to boot.

Yep! And it is also the same as the one I posted from John Lewis at £329

Edit which is out of stock... sorry

Minor differences:

BOSCH WAE24364GB - No "quick wash". The other one (BOSCH WAE2416SUK) has it.

BOSCH WAE24364GB - Delicate wash available. BOSCH WAE2416SUK - No delicate wash.

etc...

I think we have a winner (plus I just found it for £310 at Dixons!), well unless I find anything better..

What do you think of LG, as this one has taken my fancy aswell.

LG have very good reciews too but the general consinsus is Bosch is comparatively better. I guess it all comes down to your budget. You won't be disappointed with LG imo.
#16
Both LG and Bosch are rated highly in Which reports, I always purchase based on reliability though and Bosch scores 90% on reliability (second only to Miele) and LG gets 82%, however the sample of Bosches tested is 10 times bigger than the number of LGs. Don't forget to factor in the 2 year guarantee as well. ( can you tell I'm a Bosch fan lol)

Bosch it is then! Thanks for all your help
