what are sports direct like to order from online customer service wise?

I have read a few reviews and they all seem terrible if something goes wrong? Are they still this bad in 2014?

They are cheaper than instore but wonder if it is worth the hassle

Don't you believe the bad reviews you have read, and there are plenty for 2014.

I order from them all the time and have never once had any problem. i have seen the reviews but don't understand them. I suppose the problem arises maybe when you want to return something maybe but only once have i returned something (They sent 2 by mitake) and I just handed it in to the local store so no problem. I think they are a great store.

I ordered from them and some items were faulted. They sent a replacements after I sent them back, but I had to pay to return the faulted ones and was not refunded the postage costs, even though I chased it up a few times. No one answered my emails either. Not the worst customer service Ive had, but nowhere near the best.

Very poor! Watch out for the extras they add to your basket automatically. My wife ordered some trainers when the came they had sent the wrong size, we were told to send them back, and they would refund the postage. But then refused to pay the postage. Total crooks

Seems a recurring theme with postage costs not being refunded when they muck up and you have to return goods...

Never had any problems until a few weeks ago. Bought a jacket from Field And Trek (Sports Direct-owned). The wrong jacket arrived (actually more expensive on their website but much too small and wrong brand/colour!). I phoned them, and they gave me the Freepost return address and told me to re-order.

I realised after the call they hadn't told me whether they were refunding the postage, only the jacket. So I had to TELL the CS woman I wanted a refund for the first postage payment I'd made!!

Maybe it's common practice for them to try ducking out of refunding postage?

You can exchange stuff in store but can't return if you buy online.
They have a freepost address to return.

They did not let me return for an exchange instore AND they charged me to return the faulted items! oO

I ordered quite a bit of stuff for my son and they sent me two different shoes instead of a pair. I took them back to a store and they would only issue me with a credit note and not refund my card.

Hi I'm happy to help . 2 weeks ago I ordered 4 pairs of kids shoes.
1 was dirty from inside and seemed used while some one tried and second came with a security tag.
I phoned them up luckily she gave me a Free post address so I sent it to post office.
Nothing to print out. Usually it costs to return.
Last week received the exchanges but the other pair had a security tag on. My hubby took it off with plyers.
I'd say 70/100
