I bought one of those from Argos in Jan I think. I've hardly used it - not much of a gamer - average play once a month for an hour or maybe 2. Just got an Xbox 360 Elite - though don't know why! More to stream movies and music. So If you want my Xbox with warranty until Jan with Rainbow Six Lockdown, PGR2, Halo 2, Forza, Driv3r, Splinter Cell and 187 Ride or Die plus 2x Micro steering wheel controllers with pedals all as new then let me know or in the loft it goes!

Sorry just checked - purchased 29/11/06

you mean original xbox? you can get a traded in one from cex for £30 delivered or colected, 12 month warranty also.

then soft mod it so you can back up your games and save the originals for best, stick xbmc on it and use it as a top media centre.

top media centre & games consle in one for £30....

Are the original xbox more reliable regarding the 3 rings etc - and do they play all the newer xbox games -do they have a memory card to save games too ?
Thanks- seem to have more info on the new ones and no info on the old ones !!

Can anyone answer this ???

the old xbox has no new games and none will be made for it as it is discontinued.
but if you can get one you dont need a memory card as they have internal hard drives on the plus side the old games very cheap.
your best bet is a preowned console from game or gamestation.
but the xbox 360 is your best bet the red lights problem is guarenteed to be repaired should it happen with in a 3year period any other problems are covered by the 12 month warranty.

The original xbox is far more reliable than than the 360 and as far as I know the 3 rings of death do not effect it. It will not play the newer games that are designed for the 360 although there is a huge back catalogue of games for it which can be bought quite cheaply on ebay. The save games are normally saved on the internal harddrive but memory cards are also available to transfer saved games to another console.

You can mod the original xbox so that it will play games off the hard drive instead of discs and run emulators for the amiga, spectrum, gameboy, mame, nintendo 64 etc. It can also be used as a media centre for streaming video, music and photo's. Hope this helps.

I've got an original xBox here. I bought it from Argos when they were selling it at £50 with four games with the intention of selling it on eBay for slightly more, although I never got around to it, and it remains in my attic, unopened. £60 including delivery, or £50 if you're willing to pick it up in person from Edinburgh, anyone?

Photos and all the associated lark available to anyone interested.

If you're going ahead with a sale, I advise its all done in its own thread in the For Sale forums, you'll also then be able to leave feedback to each other.

Can we not do feedback in this forum?

Sorry for delay guys. I'd be looking at 70 plus delivery. Let me know if interested or I might pass on to my young cousin.
