why dont you try for another model, as both places give a five year cover

That's the one he wants, even though it's only HD ready and not one of the latest models !............He's not got a computer, so I'm doing the donkey work for him !!

get the 50 inch latest model with free sat built in, it was £1,500 in Comet so will be a bit cheaper elseswhere!

This is the newer model of the 42PX80B and the one you should go for now as you'll struggle to find the discontinued PX80B. The newer P42X10 can be had for about £620, which is probably what you'd end up paying assuming you can find someone selling the older model. It's not full HD either but is the considered the best TV at this sort of price range - both SD and HD content look very good on it.
