Hi, I'm cancelling Sky and going to miss the football more than anything. I think the best option is to add XBMC to the Laptop and stream this way. Which add on's will i need?
Thanks in advance

Not sure about doing it through XBMC... But if you're using a laptop plugged into the TV then download Sopcast and Acestream. You can use them with streams on wiziwig...

Im using Wiziwig at the moment - Can't seem to get Ace stream to stop buffering even though i've followed all instructions to the letter. Set up static IP and created a port etc. Haven't tried Sopcast is that more reliable? I notice there are less feeds for it.

Ace Stream can be a bit hit or miss, I try to shut down all other programs and just have that running, Sopcast was good a few years back but seems to be dying out .

Sports Devil / P2P-Streams

For acestream, you need a decent connection really for it to work properly...atleast on the better quality channels

Thanks - I take it Sports Devil and P2P-Streams are the add ons for XBMC? Are they reliable or do they fail a lot?

Yea they are fairly reliable, as they just grab streams from a collection of sites instead, then you just have to find a link that works within the addon

Sounds like a potential way forward for me as well... Anybody use these addons with plex/chromecast?

You can use sports devil for free it's on the xbmchub repo. I use offside streams, I pay £5.99 a month and the channels are mostly sd or HD, and is maintained 24/7.you get the bein sports, box nation, movies, etc etc

To be honest I'm happy to pay if the streams are good - do Offside streams also have the normal Sky sports and BT sports?

These addons are for xbmc only so you would have look into other methods for plex.

if its premier league games your after, the best way to watch through xbmc is "mashup"

once loaded, selected live streams>ilive streams>English(all).

Once that has loaded there is a load of thumbnail streams, on a Saturday at 3pm for example, all the games will show up, and they are usually reasonably good quality, with little buffering.

Sports devil has a load of sources, which barely work at the best of times, still worth having though

Never had issues with Sports-Devil myself but I have always ran it through a VPN

Buy a Linux satellite receiver and a cline and your off and running again. Cost is around £200 for first year, due to the receiver then about £40-50 a year after.

Hi, I'm looking at this offsidestreams.com it seems it's £10.99 per month though - How long have you been using it? Does it buffer and can you get all games with no problems? Thanks

Same as myself! Pukka streams that are always quick to load. MashUp is the full ticket for anything to stream on XBMC,

It used to be £4.99 then went up to £5.99 for a month or two, then £10.99 but, if you were already subscribed it stayed the same price. They put the price up a few months ago. I had a £4.99 subscription but, somehow I had a payment set up twice so had to cancel it but, wish I hadn't as was still cheaper then signing up again. I had some problems with them though and I had to revert back to vipbox a few times but, when it did work, it worked brilliantly, streams were better quality than vipbox and works on ios/android as well as laptop and xbmc. Actually most of my problems were caused by xbmc as when I did have problems, I found the website worked fine, although there were a few instances when it didn't. Now I have a Chromecast, I'm thinking of getting offside streams again as I can cast from chrome and continue what I'm doing elsewhere on the laptop.
