piracy is illegal
NOWTV is probably what you're after :)

Kodi isn't illegal, but there are Kodi addons which you choose to install yourself that give access to pay content for free - however there is a debate whether streaming copyrighted content such as movies or TV for free is illegal or not since you don't store the content, there was a european court ruling some years ago that said copyright laws don't apply to streaming content.

Thanks for replies, but someone commented that Chromecast was the best.

glad we are leaving....european courts and their warped sense of justice!

Chromecast (got two, original and new style) is good if you want to stream from apps like Netflix, YouTube or if you've got some of your own content. Kodi box good if you are storing your own content (haven't used mine for some time). NowTV is good if you still want some Sky content but don't want to pay their prices, not all channels are available but it's not bad. Black Friday vouchers are good for movie package. They all have their merits, you must need to work out what you want to do with it.

Chromecast is great but it has no TV onscreen interface you control everything from your smartphone or tablet, NOWTV boxes are controlled with their small remote on the TV screen

Firestick all day long.
Chromecast relies on external device, firesticks have 1000's of legit apps (and firedl) ;)

Had the Amazon Fire stick with Kodi on it and was rubbish!! Currently use the chrome cast which is really good if you have a tablet or a phone where you can download 'Showbox' - has all the latest films on, the just stream over to your tv

Disagree, currently using kodi via firestick and it's doing the job fine. I think it would depend on the wifi signal, installing a light build and clearing your cache.

Android box/firestick if your happy with Crappy Kodi streams...
Roku 2 if you want to use paid services like NowTV/Amazon/Netfix and all UK catchup sevices

Putting Legality aside while the dodgy stream stuff works through kodi it's far from stable things get shutdown etc. Fine for the spare room but if you want something permanent pay for it. Now tv is okay but it is limited to 720p I think
