Anyone recommend a courier to ship a 32" LCD tv with insurance? It's still in orig manufacturer's packaging, weighs under 9kg, box is prob about 1500x800x200mm.

Unfortunately no one I know of will cover a tv with insurance. However if it is manufacturer boxed then it should be fine. I can honestly say I have never ever had an issue with City Link in the many times I have used them including for a few tv's. They know what it is from the box so generally will take care not to through ti around....but youhave to accept there is always a risk.

The other option but will dfinitely be more expensive and may include insurance is shiply or anyvan.com I have just used a courier on anyvan who was brilliant but it was for a much bigger item.

you wont get insurance on a TV ,glass will be excluded, just make sure its got loads and loads of extra packaging

I would use City Link, I generally use them via Interparcel as the price is cheaper. I have actually sent a few tv's by them and next day delivery and you don't need to print labels as the driver brings them.

City Link 2 day delivery has always 100% of the time been next day for me and it should cost £9.54 plus vat. Your sizes are almost certainly wrong by the way, I have a 60" tv and it is not 1500mm long so check your sizes acurately.

Good luck.

That's the issue - although there is no glass - screen will be a plastic.

cheers, size was a total guesstimate. Insurance is the issue :/ Cover both myself and the buyer.

I've tried SHIPLY- £65 min and some dodgy quotes - 1st came from a company for £108 who promptly retracted it when competition quoted around £70, re quoting themselves for £68.

it makes sense to cut the price if the opening quote was uncompetitive, why do you think there are so many "deals" well below the original rrp on this site

Of course it does - but that they can do the job for £68 but orig tried to 'get away' with £108 means they won't be getting my business.

Neither will anyone for that sort of money tbh - amazon etc etc use citylink et al - I can't see them all standing the risk of of damage themselves.

i'm sure you could do your job for less than what you get paid, but do you say to the boss pay me less as I have money left over at the end of the week?

Actually, no I couldn't do it for less, nor would I. We're not talking about a few % difference here - off the top of my head it's a good third cheaper. That's a lot of extra mark up originally.

the original boxes usually have a large air gap inside them, fill the voids with bubble wrap, and wrap the box in plenty of it and it should be fine

Did you book with a broker or direct? Quick look and I can only see a direct option but the website is very user friendly. thanks.
