Which Hard drive?!

Hiya guys.

After being dissapointed with the cancelation of the £70 hardrive from play, i've decide i need one. Probably 500GB just so i dont have to wrry for a couple of years!

i found a few at ebuyer http://www.ebuyer.com/UK/cat/Hard-Drives/subcat/External-Desktop-Drives here and with the google checkout discount, it makes the deals sweeter.

Also the play alternative at £80 might be an idea.

I'll probably pay up to £80.

If anyone could point me to the best overall drive, I will greatly appreciate it :w00t:

I'd go for one that starts and closes down with your PC..lke the WD my book series..the esential will do fine if you just want usb connection.

my mate mentioned getting one with a firewire connection. Now i dont have a firewire port on my PC, is it worth investing in firewire as from my understandng its a similar speed difference as a mini metro and a porsche GT. Know anything about firewire O great and knowledgable currychops

Well only if you go for the high speed firewire as the standard firewire is no faster than USB 2...and you'd have to buy a model with the high speed firewire cabability and they don't come cheap.
