Hi folks,

After a bit of advice... I'm looking for an internal HDD and have found a couple of good deals on ebuyer.

I'm a bit clueless as to which manufacturer would be the best option as I have no previous experience with either of them.

Just after some recommendations or your personal preferences!

Options are:

Western Digital WD5000AAKB 500GB Hard Drive 7200rpm 16MB Cache - OEM

Hitachi Deskstar 7k500 500GB 7200RPM ATA/133 8MB Cache - OEM
http://www.ebuyer.com/UK/product/95662

Your advice is appreciated!

Cheers
K

I'd go for the WD one.

I used to use WD when i built a few PCs it also has a 16MB Cache, double the size of the other one.

Hi Emma, many thanks for your welcome note!

T0mm - cheers for the advice. I was leaning slightly more to the WD option, it's good to know you have successfully used them in the past.

You may find this unhelpful, but I could throw a 3rd HDD into the ring - I recently bought this Samsung 500gb and it had good reviews on this site (do a search). I'm pleased with it, but could not compare with the other two.
